Over two years ago I was honored to become part of the team to present ALAC to the Kansas Legislature. It has been a long hard battle, and my first real inside look at how the political process works. Oh, I have pretty much always been active and interested, but never on such a personal and crucial level. It has been a roller coaster ride that I will not soon forget and unless you’ve actually been involved close up, there is no way to understand it, let alone explain it! Human nature is vividly revealed in this arena, and character is exposed for all to see! I was proud of the team I have been involved with and they have become very close and dear to my heart; all brothers and sisters in Christ, and all men and women of high character and humility.
I still am reeling from the shock that the Kansas Senate passed ALAC, 33-3!!
There were more opposing speeches given than opposing votes! Vicious lies were spewed about the contents and intents of SB 79 during debate by Senate Committee Leaders. At least 4 Senate Leaders testified against the bill; one Senator changing his mind from supporting in Committee to opposing, along with the Senate Judiciary Chair, who still doesn’t even know why he signed on in Committee!! I Do!!
Great support was given by many Senators, and when the dust settled 33 had voted for and 3 against. This in a Senate Chamber that has been run by liberal Republican leadership and have basically smacked down nearly every conservative legislation that has appeared in its chambers. Most of these bills were going down by narrow margins of 3 to 6 votes.
On Wednesday, we had such a huge setback! The brother of a Muslim woman in Wichita (court case pending) had asked for a press Conference with the Center for Security Policy, who were the chief engineers of ALAC on the national level. We held a press conference in Topeka and this guy backed out, and essentially the wheels fell off our wagon. I really expected the press to crucify us but it wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. Amid the confusion of all the other fights and melee in the Capital that day, our deal was not so big.
One of our team members had made a comment Wednesday after our disaster that Jesus did not turn the water into wine until they had run out of wine. Well said my friend! We were totally out of the fight when He moved and showed us all! We had to be totally removed from having any part in what God was about to do! He chose one young faithful Senator to accomplish the impossible, and it was incredible to behold the events as they unfolded. For over an hour debate ensued, and by the end of the second hour the vote was tallied. Everyone was asking each other if those numbers where correct. What just happened? Is this for real? How can that be? God just revived a bill which had died 3 times in the past year!
This event could very well be the dynamite that breaks the logjam in the Kansas Legislature. This event is already a defining moment in the coming elections! It may be the defining moment in the future of Kansas!
If you know anything about the history of the United States, you know Kansas has played a major part in events that have shaken the Nation to its very core. From the Kansas-Nebraska Act which sparked the Civil War, to Brown v Board of Education, Kansas has a long history at the tip of the spear of moral and spiritual battles in our country. For over 7 years prior to the Civil War, there were buckets of blood soaking into Kansas soil while struggling to establish the American ideal of “All men equal under the Law” that had been written into the Constitution. Kansas motto is “Ad Astra Per Aspra”, Latin for “To the Stars through Difficulty”. She wanted to come into that field of blue on the American Flag, a Free State where all men are considered equal under protection of the law of the Land.
American Laws for American Courts underscores that ideal. It is the reinforcing of the promises of government to guard and protect the individual rights and freedoms as granted under the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Kansas regardless of country or culture of origin, race, or religion. It gives statutory direction to the Courts, which at times, without such laws to refer to, may use arbitrary means to reach a decision.
A reporter asked me if I didn’t think it redundant to pass a law that does the same thing as the Constitution? Considering that many Judges, lawyers, and citizens in general do not read, abide by, understand, or even think about the Constitution anymore…my answer?
“Yes.”
UPDATE: The HAMAS linked CAIR (Council for American Islamic Relations), a Muslim Brotherhood affiliate, has mounted its expected attack on Kansas. They have mounted a national campaign for Muslims to contact Governor Sam Brownback and tell him not to sign the bill. CAIR’s call to action lambasts Kansas Legislature, and Kansas citizens, as “Islamophobic, Muslim hating bigots, and that this law will forbid free exercise of Islamic religious beliefs.
Well, if your free exercise of your religious beliefs goes contrary to the Constitution, and existing Kansas and American Law, then I suppose that would apply. Things like polygamy, slavery, inequity in legal status, stoning, suppression of the rights of other individuals (Muslim or non-Muslim), yes, these things are contrary to our laws. It’s sort of like driving the wrong way on a one way street. It’s against the law, no matter who you are, or why you do it!
If your religious beliefs lead you to action that is legal under American or Kansas Law, such as your choice of diet, abstaining from alcohol or tobacco, pray 5 times a day (not blocking traffic), adhere to a dress code, or any other religious expression which complies with the law, knock yourself out!
Need More Proof of Creeping Sharia? Note the line in the following article about the “Founding Principles Act” which would require schools to teach the US Constitution. This is how far we’ve come…to have to pass a law forcing schools to teach the US Constitution!?!
ANN ARBOR, MI – In the middle of an event to extol the virtues of the U.S. Constitution and “American Laws For American Courts,” the audience learned first-hand how easy it is to lose their freedom of Speech and Assembly.
Amid shouts of “What about free speech?” from the audience, the Allegan Police Department ordered the event shut-down. School officials notified police that they had received a letter complaining about the event from Dawud Walid, Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI). The letter asked the school to disallow the event despite an existing contract. CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism funding trial in U. S. history, U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation.
As a result, the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC), a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced yesterday that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR- MI), its Executive Director, the City of Allegan, theAllegan Police Department and the School District were named as defendants in a thirty-four page civil rights lawsuit filed in the Federal District Court for the Western District of Michigan, this morning. The claims included constitutional and contract violations. [Click here for copy of federal complaint]
Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Law Center commented, “It’s amazing how much clout CAIR has with the political establishment of both parties in Lansing and throughout Michigan and the nation. This, despite the fact that CAIR has its roots in the Muslim Brotherhood, was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, and the FBI’s former chief of counterterrorism, noted that CAIR, its leaders, and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups.” Continued Thompson, “Press accounts make it clear that an indictment naming CAIR as a defendant in the Holy Land Foundation trial was squelched by Attorney General Holder’s office despite vehement objections by FBI agents and the federal prosecutors in Dallas.”
TMLC’s federal lawsuit was brought on behalf of State Representative David Agema; a chapter leader of ACT! for America, Elizabeth Griffin; Allegan County Commissioner, Willis Sage; and Mark Gurley, one of the event sponsors.
The event in question, entitled, “Constituting Michigan – Founding Principles Act” took place on January 26, 2012 at an Allegan High School auditorium which had been rented by Willis Sage.
The purpose of the event was to inform the public about the importance of honoring the United States Constitution, to recognize the internal threat to America posed by radical Muslims and the dangers to our free society caused by the imposition of Sharia law.
At first the Allegan police chief police indicated he shut down the event because of threats to one of the speakers, Kamal Saleem; however, shortly thereafter, the chief admitted to a reporter that there was no specific threat to the event and no real danger at all. In fact, no specific threats of violence relating to the event were received by the City of Allegan, its police department, the Allegan Public School District or Allegan Public High School.
Police gave as their reason, the appearance of one of the featured speakers, Kamal Saleem, a former Muslim terrorist who converted to Christianity. Saleem has spoken at numerous high schools and universities, Christian churches and Jewish temples across the nation. He has also spoken at the U. S. Air Force Academy, Michigan’s State Capital, and Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. At no time before the Allegan event or afterwards has an event where he has spoken been shut down by law enforcement.
Sage notified the Allegan police chief ten days before the event and invited him to check out the background of Saleem, which he never did.
Erin Mersino is the TMLC attorney handling the case.
More on Plaintiffs
State Representative David Agema is an elected State Representative for the 74th District serving in Michigan’s House of Representatives. He is a sponsor of HB 4769 entitled “Restriction of Application of Foreign Laws Act” (based on the American Laws for American Courts Model Act), which bans the use of foreign laws including Sharia law, by courts and administrative bodies of the State, when those laws conflict with fundamental rights protected by the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Michigan. Defendant Walid, is an outspoken opponent of HB 4769.
Elizabeth Griffin is a chapter leader for the organization, ACT! for America, a non-partisan, non-sectarian organization whose mission is to give Americans concerned about national security, terrorism, and the threat of radical Islam, a powerful, organized, informed and mobilized voice. Griffin promotes the “Constituting Michigan – Founding Principles Act”, which would require Michigan public schools to teach the history and Constitution of the United States. Griffin also guides and mentors chapter leaders for various chapters of the ACT! for America organization, as well as educates concerned Americans about the threat of Islamic Sharia law to our system of law in the United States.
Willis Sage is a County Commissioner for the County of Allegan, Michigan. Sage is the author of the “Constituting Michigan – Founding Principles Act,” which would require Michigan public schools to teach the history and constitution of the United States. He organized the event and rented the room at Allegan High School where the free speech event was held.
Plaintiff Mark Gurley was a sponsor of the event and paid for the airfare of Kamal Saleem. He is also an advocate of HB 4769, “Restriction of Application of Foreign Laws Act” (based on the American Laws for American Courts Model Act), sponsored by Plaintiff Agema.
Defendants’ pretextual claim that the free speech event needed to be shut-down for safety reasons subverts the true cause for halting the free speech event: complying with the demands of CAIR.ANN ARBOR, MI – In the middle of an event to extol the virtues of the U.S. Constitution and “American Laws For American Courts,” the audience learned first-hand how easy it is to lose their freedom of Speech and Assembly.
In this video entitled “Marxism in America” General Jerry Boykin discusses his background and training in understanding Marxist insurgencies and how current government actions parallel Marxist tactics.
I can’t stand it any longer! Four Marines relieve themselves on dead enemies that had been killing and maiming their buddies, and by the media and Pentagon leadership’s reaction you’d think there were implications on par with My Lai. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was “totally dismayed”. Really Leon Panetta? “Utterly deplorable”?!
How about this for “utterly deplorable”: The butchering of American GI’s on the streets of Mogadishu in 1993 by beheading and evisceration after being wounded and bludgeoned to death, then dragging the bodies through the streets of the city, while children dance and laugh, and women and men alike sing victory songs to Allah. Not deplorable?
Or perhaps the two 101st Airborne soldiers captured and brutally tortured and finally gutted and beheaded in Yousifayya, Iraq in 2006, all captured on video for the viewing public by the barbarian AQ pukes who then take two other American boys KIA and tie them to IED booby traps on the road to the other bodies. This incident was hardly mentioned in the media, let alone by any government officials at the time.
If that’s not “deplorable” enough Leon, how about Daniel Pearl, the civilian journalist who’s head was hacked from his bound body while his gurgling screams were drowned by his own blood. As Daniel struggled against his murderers they read from the Quran and chanted praises to Allah. Is that deplorable?!
I am amazed that the United States Government can still raise a volunteer force of the best fighting men and women in the world in light of the fact that their government officials may or may not have their backs. Now that’s “utterly deplorable”!
One specific instance that comes to mind is the bloody battle that 4 Navy SEALS who were on a surveilience mission in Afghanistan and were discovered by two Afghan goat herders. The SEALS knew if they released the herders, they were sure to bring the Taliban on them. However, if they did harm to them, their own government would crucify them. The SEALS chose to take on hundreds of Taliban rather than a civilian government who doesn’t understand war. Three of the four SEALS never came home and Marcus lives the life of a “Lone Survivor”. “Deplorable”?
War is war. It is not a football game where the rule book is enforced by umpires, close calls are reviewed in the instant replay booth, and afterward we all shake hands and go home. The object of war is to kill the enemy and break his stuff until he quits trying to kill you. Human emotion and frustration during war sometimes drives civil people to do things that society may view as unacceptable, at least under normal conditions. How “civilized” is war anyway? It is indeed “utterly deplorable”.
Lt. Colonel Allen West, now Representative in the US Congress, suggests the Military handle the affair as follows:
“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.
“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”
To Col. West I say, “Kudos”!
To a government who cannot decide if their paid military should be allowed to fight a war to a victorious end and are not willing to identify the enemy, I say this: “If our cause is not just, then get my son the hell out of Afghanistan!”
To my Marine son and his buddies I say this: “Semper Fi my brave boys; your politicians may be weak, but your people are strong!” Oooraah!
P.S. Here is a photo of a pose that General George S. Patton struck as he crossed the Rhine river, showing the Fuhrer what his thoughts were at the time. The following Patton quote was to Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Force: “…I have just pissed into the Rhine River. For God’s sake, send some gasoline.”
What do Islamists, Socialists, Communists, Progressives and Greens all have in common? The ideal of “Social Justice”.
This Utopian philosophical mainstay has been around for quite a while and had its modern roots in the “Social Gospel” espoused by the Episcopalian Church in the early 20th century. Other similar variant philosophies such as “Liberation Theology” have come out of religious ideologies taught by Roman Catholic clergy in Latin America which merged Marxism with theological teachings of Utopian objectives. The United Methodist Church has fully embraced “Social Justice” as one of its “Methods”, citing “It is a governmental responsibility to provide all citizens with health care.” (Even the Green Party movement has as one of its “four pillars”, social justice as a basic tenet.) I don’t recall Jesus Christ ever admonishing the government of Rome to provide social services to its subjects. He did however, admonish His followers to provide for the poor…of their own initiative, not by compulsory government intervention.
Post Millennialism is an extra-Biblical doctrine in Christendom which says that in order for Jesus to return to Earth, Mankind must cleanse the world of all the social evils that plague the planet. In other words, when we get it right, He will return. Human nature is, of course, antithetical to that objective in light of the fact that all humans are sinful creatures; thus the need for redemption from the curse of death, visa vi the Savior. Post-Millennialism is indeed an ingenious method to distract “Christian” religious organizations who have “left their first love” and become diverted from proclaiming the Gospel of Christ to a lost and sinful world. It is a theological seed-bed for “Social Gospel” which is strictly a works based religious theology. To quote Adrian Rogers, it is “religion working to make the world a better place to go to Hell from.”
The Social Gospel was the root of “Progressivism” in early 1900’s US politics, which became more Leftist each time it “reformed”. Included in that early movement were names like Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, FDR.
Socialists of the same era included Upton Sinclair, founder of the ACLU and California candidate for governor who wrote,
“The American People will take Socialism, but they won’t take the label. I certainly proved it in the case of EPIC. Running on the Socialist ticket I got 60,000 votes, and running on the slogan to “End Poverty in California” I got 879,000.”
Another noteworthy name in American Progressive/Socialist politics is Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood and advocate of eugenics who was cited by Nazi’s at the Nuremberg Trials as foundational in developing their own programs of genocide and sterilization. Planned Parenthood annually awards recipients worthy of her memory. Recipients include names such as Jane Fonda, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Ted Turner.
Today, Progressives are a large part of both the Green and Democrat parties, while raw Socialists, Marxists, Anarchists, and Communists pretty much make up the remainder of the two. Just my opinion…(Heck, progressives are entrenched in the Republican Party as well. We call them “Moderates”.)
Today’s proponents of Social Justice are a mix of religious zealots, atheistic Leftist elites, and a smattering of environmentalist activists (most of these would qualify as religious zealots). It is an ideology which has infiltrated American institutions from the schoolhouse, to the mainstream churches, to the media.
“Social justice” is one of the core values of Fethullah Gulen’s “Turkish Movement”. The not so “moderate” Muslim Brotherhood also espouses social justice as a core value. Stands to reason as this is one of the key principles of Islam.
You see in Islam, just as in Socialism, Progressivism, and Communism, it is the government’s/ruler’s responsibility to redistribute resources from those who have, or produce them, to those who have not. As Marx put it, “From each according to his ability to each according to his need.”
Yes, “social justice” translates as “income and/or property redistribution”. Now you know why Muslim’s vote Democrat.
This serves to explain the “unholy” alliance that has been made between the Left and Islamic activists in the West, especially in Canada and the United States. The shared ideologies of “solidarity”, “social justice,” and a common desire to smother capitalism and a free and open society, have consolidated the opponents of traditional American values into a deadly and powerful force that has found refuge in the highest offices in the land.
Aside from the long list of administrative appointments that our current President has given in sensitive positions (such as Department of Homeland Security) to at least one self-styled Communist, at least 3 MuslimBrotherhood affiliates, at least one open proponent of Sharia Law, and at least one documented socialist, (Not an exhaustive list, mind you; just a cursory perusal of Administration Staff) a recent poll indicates an overwhelming approval of the Obama Presidency among America’s Islamic community.
Pew Research Center released its latest polling data showing vast differences between the average American citizen and Muslim’s (American) satisfaction with the President. Whereas in 2007, President Bush’s approval among U. S. Muslims was 15% and 69% disapproved, the 2011 data showed that only 14% disapproved of President Obama while an overwhelming 76% approved.
As Pew said in its own report, “Muslim-Americans clearly see a friend in Obama.” You can read the Wall Street online article titled, “A Muslim President, After All”. This is quite revealing in light of the Gallup approval rating for Obama at 42%, the lowest among Americans since he took office, with a disapproval rating of 50%. His approval rating among American blacks (I refuse to hyphenate Americans) has dropped in the last 5 months from 83% to 58%, 18 points lower than that of America’s Islamic community.
So how is that religions and political ideologies that are so antithetically opposed to one another, such as Islam and atheistic Communism (or Progressivism) can cooperate so fully in their political endeavors? These forces have been at bloody odds for generations.
The “End Game” for both is the same. There is an old (supposed) Arab proverb, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend“. This is a doctrine that has been implemented by military powers throughout history and has been used by most. The Western Alliance and Russia both used each other to defeat the Nazi’s in WW2. It is no strange tool to politics. In fact, it is nearly a prescribed strategy in politics.
The interesting thing about this modern scenario in America, is each ideological group believes they will come out in control in the end. The basic premise is use the others to my advantage until our common enemy is vanquished, then I can overpower the other interests. It is classic Saul Alinsky. The Leftist Elite are so arrogant, they believe they can “be nice” to Islam and help/use Islam to subvert the American system and culture, and afterward; when the objective is reached and America is “Fundamentally transformed” (as Mr. Obama so eloquently put it) then Islam will politely co-exist with the Socialists. Laughable…
Every good Islamist and those who know Islam understand that “co-existence” is not in the Quranic vocabulary. But the arrogance of the godless Humanists brings a strong delusion which renders the mind incapable of basic reasoning skills and the natural instinct of survival. The principle of Abrogation, taught by Muhammad and attested to in Quran, does not allow Islam to “co-exist” with any government, culture, or religion. It must, by its very nature, dominate.
Someone is going to be very disappointed in “the enemy of his enemy” after the objective is accomplished. There is no dhimmitude status afforded atheists. There is no tolerance for intellectual dissension. Only conversion or death.
Social Justice? To the Leftist Elite it’s a Utopian pipe dream. To Islam? It is prescribed by Sharia. One needs only examine those countries where Sharia is enforced to see what a Utopian lifestyle is available there. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Somalia…
Social Justice indeed.
I guess it depends on who is “defining the narrative”…Keep in mind the Islamic narrative in the United States is currently being defined by CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood.
As we commemorate the Tenth Anniversary of the second “Date which will live in Infamy”, September 11th, 2001, we must look in retrospection and introspection as to what we have learned about ourselves as Americans and what we have done to remedy the cause and prevent the potential 3rd Date of Infamy.
As President Roosevelt made his address to Congress on December 8th, he spoke of the attack of the Empire of Japan on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, which killed over 2400 and wounded over 1200 Americans.
“Yesterday, December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.”
He went on to rally Americans to respond with realistic tone of determination and warning that “our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger”. America was suddenly and totally immersed in World War Two, a bloody struggle of free men around the world against the tyrants of Imperialism, Fascism, and National Socialism, all three led by racist dictators bent on world conquest, and forming the “Axis Powers” of Japan, Italy, and Germany.
However, this most recent “Day of Infamy” has not been met with the decisiveness of strong leadership, nor the resolve of a determined, united, and discerning people, as the previous had.
In early 1941 Gallup took a poll of Americans. Even with the Empire of Japan raping the Asian Pacific, Hitler and Mussolini occupying most of Europe and perpetrating the imprisonment and mass murder of Jews, and anyone else who stood in the way, 80% of Americans were still against entering the war prior to Pearl Harbor. After that Sunday morning, you would be hard pressed to find anyone willing to voice any opposition to anything short of full and complete immersion. Even after America had been at war for some years, young men were afraid the war would end before they were old enough to get in it.
The difference between 9/11/2001 and 12/7/1941 is more than a mere 60 years of time passage. The difference between that generation and this, is spiritual.
While obviously not every person was devoutly religious in 1941 in America, there was a generally understood belief that God had set a guideline for living and that humans were accountable for themselves and their charges accordingly. There was a strong sense of right and wrong, and providing for one’s self and family. (These things still exist, but are more sub-cultural generally speaking.)
These people had been living through the Great Depression for the last 12 years. (In fact, it was the war economy which pulled America out of that Depression.) They had been conditioned to hard times and living within their sometimes meager means. Their faith had been tested and their character forged in the fires of total financial ruin, drought, high unemployment, and less than 25 years previous, World War 1. They were benevolent in spite of their lack. They were thankful for what they had and those who survive yet today are still the some of the most benevolent and gracious among us. They retained that spirit of self reliance, determination, and resolve. We would do well to learn from them.
In the days following 911, America briefly caught a vision of her former self.
Her people fled in droves to the solace of churches everywhere in search of comfort, reassurance, and an explanation. We assembled in groups as Americans, not multicultural hyphenated people groups. We cried together, came to assist those in need, shared our plenty with those who lost much, and bowed our heads together to mourn our dead and memorialize heroes and the innocents.
We came together with resolve and righteous anger. We were bound, even so very briefly by national patriotism, a sense of duty, shared sacrifice and loss, and that somewhat primitive urgency to avenge our countrymen. The recruitment offices were again flooded with volunteers for military service. There are yet to this day a few brave young men willing to step up.
People from large and small cities and towns across America took equipment, treasure and time to assist in recovery and cleanup operations at the Pentagon, Manhattan, and Pennsylvania. Those who could not leave home gave blood, donated supplies, sent money, and prayed.
For the most part we received some comfort and reassurance in numbers and memorials, and helping our fellow countrymen, but few found a satisfactory explanation for the tragedy of 911. An explanation that divides good from evil, light from darkness, life from death.
The spiritual dearth resulting from two generations of revisionist history, secular humanism, and relativism has left America adrift in a stormy sea of pluralism and confusion, while being pursued by pirates, with no lighthouse to provide a bearing and no wind of common purpose in her sails. Foreign philosophies and ideologies have ripped the rudder off and unchained the anchor. God has been replaced by a godless government and a politically correct media is playing the part of a “false prophet”.
The ship has no captain and the crew is devouring the remaining provender. The passengers have been sleeping below decks and rats are infesting the ship with disease.
We have yet to officially recognize the enemy that perpetrated the last “Day of Infamy” ten years ago.
‘Twas not the case in 1941. Congress and the President immediately declared war on the Axis Powers of Japan, Italy, and Germany. There were no calls for “understanding what we did to upset the Japanese”; no pandering President naming the ideology of National Socialism “a peaceful [ideology] which has been hijacked by extremists”. There was no allowance for Nazi’s in America to participate in memorial ceremonies to honor our dead. The media did not feature psycho-babble explaining the “Rape of Nanking” China by Imperial Japan as Chinese oppression, or that Pearl Harbor was a result of intrusive American foreign policy.
These perpetrators of Nazism, Fascism, and Imperial Conquest were named and identified as enemies of the United States of America. Roosevelt continued in his speech, “No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion the American people will in their righteous might win through to absolute victory.”
In the closing paragraphs, he stated, “I speak the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will see to it that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again. Hostilities exist…”
On the other hand, Presidents since 911 have never recognized that while we are not at war with a specific country with uniformed troops, the enemy is much more specifically identifiable than by terms like “Terrorists”, “Killers”, “Evildoers” and “Radical Extremists” or even “Al Qaida”. Yes the enemy may be all those adjectives but these terms do not identify a reason for the action of war or the source of it. There are all kinds of killers, evildoers, radicals, and a myriad of self named groups who perpetrate a political agenda. These terms do nothing to identify the enemy which has spelled out its intent under no uncertain terms. War.
Jihad, which is defined by the “Classic Manual of Islamic Holy Law” as: A “war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada [soldier], signifying warfare to establish the religion…” until all the world is brought under the rule of Sharia, and Allah’s religion reigns supreme, is what we are embroiled in.
We are at war. 911 was not a criminal act, it was an act of war perpetrated upon a sovereign nation by a socio-politico ideological system that at its very core is racist, compulsory, supremacist, and imperialistic. This ideology crosses geographical and national lines.
The enemy is the radical Islam. And make no mistake, radical Islam is Fundamentalist Islam, which is the truest form of Islam. But our government and other institutions cannot bring themselves to identify the true source of this fight. An enemy unrecognized will overtake and subdue an opponent that is unwilling to confront him. We can pretend that Islam is a “peaceful religion” and whistle through the graveyard at the cost of everything that is good and just about America. Or we can name the enemy and attack it. We are in a death match.
Although the battle may be physical in the military sense, the war is Spiritual. If America refuses to recognize this most important fact, she loses. If America loses, the entire world loses. In the words of Lincoln, America is still “the last best hope for Earth”. Today, the only hope for her survival is her people turn to the only source of hope; Faith in the God of our Fathers.
[Incidentally, He has no parley with, nor is He related to the cultic deity, Allah.]
John Guandolo enters the musical world with this song that he wrote a few years ago and just released for 9/11/11. I have included a few photos for a memorial experience. If you would like to download John’s song visit this link. I think you will be moved by it.
PRESIDENT CALVIN COOLIDGE, the only president born on the 4th of July, said:
“About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. … No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress.”
That quote alludes to a movement that had great gains in the early 1900′s known as “Progressivism”, who’s chief advocate of that time was the Harding/Coolidge administration’s predecessor Woodrow Wilson (D). Wilson believed the United States had outgrown the Constitution and he was a founding member of the League of Nations (predecessor to UN) which the Republican dominated Congress refused to allow the US to join. Exponential government expansion and increased taxation (gave us the first Income Tax) and oversight marked Wilson’s presidency, only being overshadowed by WW1, after Wilson was narrowly elected for a second term. Wilson also brought us the Federal Reserve banking system and advocated nationalized health care.
Wilson’s successor Warren Harding was a “moderate” Republican who died after 2 years in office leaving his conservative VP Coolidge in the Oval Office. Coolidge was a true conservative, believing that issues not addressed in the U. S. Constitution were better left up to the states. This was proved out during his tenure as Governor of Mass. when he signed into law measures that opposed child labor, reduced hours for women (to 48 or less) and raised pay in the factories, stating “we must humanize industry”. He also pushed the legislature to give a $100 bonus to WW1 Veterans in that state.
Conversely, on the Federal level, as President he believed that labor unions were a skid to socialism, and opposed them at every turn. He also fought Congress on government subsidization of agriculture stating that “government control cannot be divorced from political control“. He believed that taxes should be lower and fewer people should have to pay them.
Coolidge is not without his warts, and many blame lack of controls on Wall Street for the “Crash of ’29″. I believe this criticism is warranted. Hindsight is always better than foresight and commentary easier than commission, but I would contend that policies of his successor Herbert Hoover (moderate Rep) followed by FDR (another Progressive) contributed to the duration of the Great Depression.
Hoover was not Coolidge’s VP but Commerce Secretary, and after Coolidge announced he was not going to run in ’28 the Republicans nominated Hoover. Coolidge once said of Hoover, “for six years that man has given me unsolicited advice—all of it bad”. However, he did not want to split the party and quietly went back to private life. Known as “Silent Cal” someone at a dinner party once challenged him, “I have a bet with someone that I can get you say more than 2 words”. He replied, “You lose.” When this same person was informed of his death years later, she asked, “How could you tell?”
Coolidge’s presidency is now largely forgotten along with the unprecedented economic growth during that time. Few people know who he was, let alone his politics. He was a Republican yes, but more than that he was a conservative who realized the bounds of the US Constitution, and the restraints that must be applied to government. He was very popular and after the landslide victory won with Harding in ’20, Coolidge went on to win his own landslide in ’24.
I believe that without this conservative tempering between Wilson and FDR, we may very well have had a similar type of revolution as experienced in Germany and Russia as the Socialists and Communists struggled for power. They were very present here in America. They’re back.
In my reading of this era of American History I realized that there is a pendulum swing in American politics from left to right and usually the swing matches the distance marked on the opposite side. We have recently been witness to a drastic swing to the left. However, with the 2010 sweeping victory in the House of Representatives, and the “re-awakening” of grassroots America, it seems the momentum has become static. As we move into the next election cycle, look for continued retaking of Congressional seats and a shift in the Senate, along with Obama returning to Chicago, or Honolulu, or maybe Nairobi to look for new digs.
So while you celebrate the “4th” and this great country we have been given, maybe give a passing thought to “Silent Cal” Coolidge on his birthday. Then have another hotdog…God Bless America!

I wrote this poem many years ago after taking my family to visit the portable version of the Vietnam Memorial Wall which was visiting our town. It is called the “Moving Wall” because it is portable. However, it was emotionally one of the most ‘moving’ experiences of my life. Even though these verses were inspired by those valiant Americans whose names are engraved on that black wall, it is nonetheless a tribute to each and every person who has ever died in the service of our country. When this was written, my son whom I mentioned was about 6. He is now a 25 year old United States Marine Corps Reserve, and an Afghan vet. He is my hero.
The Wall
I saw your name the other day
While reading the local news.
It said you played a good ball game,
Your last year, and you’ve paid your dues.
I saw your name then sometime later,
Graduation day had come.
You walked up proud and took the scroll
That your hard work had won.
I saw your name in another season
And smiled to myself as I read
Of a young married couple just starting out
With a promise and dreams ahead.
I saw your name a few months later
But this time it worried me.
Your name, and others, on a long list
Training for war overseas.
I saw your name and uttered a prayer
For you and your young family.
I knew of your character and duty-bound love
For country, for God, and for me.
I saw your name and thought of your father
Who fought in another time.
And he, just like you, hated to leave
His wife, and new son behind.
I saw your name just yesterday
And my heart broke as mist filled my eyes.
You were killed with some buddies while out on patrol
Where many a good young man dies.
I saw your name again just today
And all of your comrades’ as well,
Where flags fly high and monuments stand
With more stories than words can tell.
I saw your name on a glossy black wall
And as my throat became tight,
My chest swelled slightly with pride for a man
Who thought freedom was well worth the fight.
I saw your name in the deep black reflection
of the face of my dearest young son,
And prayed he would never be called on to go,
But would cherish the liberty won.
I saw your name and wondered just how
I might thank your family,
For sacrifice made for people unknown,
As well as my family, and me.
I saw your name and thought that perhaps
Despite lack of glory and fame,
It may be enough to think of you now,
And tell them that I saw your name.
The ongoing debate on the “Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell” policy of the Pentagon has ended with the President signing into law the repeal of a policy instituted by President Clinton. This came in the waning days of a lame duck Congress which knew they had to pass the law before the new Congress came in. Now homosexuals are not only permitted, but encouraged to join the ranks of the military.
After a quick check via Google, a United Nations website, unaids.org, netted some startling statistics. In North America, parts of Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe, 70% of all AIDS cases are transmitted by male on male intercourse. As many as 56% of those are suspected of bisexual activity, which then calculates into 39 of 100 women engaging in intercourse with bisexual men can be exposed to HIV. The remainder of cases are attributed mostly to injection drug use .
The average life expectancy of a homosexual male is early 40’s. Not only does HIV/AIDS weigh in heavily but a myriad of other sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s) create health problems along with drug usage, which more often than not is a factor. It is a very destructive lifestyle and when Kinsey was doing his infamous sex studies, less than 1% of his homosexual men were 60+. A 2008 published study shows the overwhelming majority of deaths in homosexual men occur between ages of 25-45.
A man for whom I have a great deal of respect is a retired Lt. Colonel, US Army who served 26 years including Vietnam, where he was Special Forces, wounded in combat and treated other wounded soldiers in combat. Dr. Rich Kiper recently wrote some editorial letters and an article expressing his outrage over the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and with his permission, the following is a graphic excerpt of one of those articles from “Pioneer Pathways”:
“Few members of Congress have served, and even fewer have combat experience…I believe there is no understanding of what occurs on a battlefield. Hence, they and the public, view the gay issue only in terms of some bogus civil right rather than the life-and-death matter that it actually is.
I want to be clear that I am speaking only from my personal experience. My experience was that I was wounded in a fight where my unit took over 50% casualties-fortunately no deaths. It was terrifying and chaotic. Back then there were no such things as rubber gloves for the medics or anyone else. It was a situation where the medic was treating a lot of people and was being assisted by those who were able to do so, all the while fighting..for our lives. I find it hard to imagine that, even if the medic had had enough rubber gloves, that he would have been able to change them between every wounded soldier. I am not trying to be dramatic; that was the way it was and Congressmen and women and many liberal military-hating so-called journalists don’t have a clue about such situations, or if they do simply don’t give a —-
Now, what if a wounded soldier were gay? With blood all over, with bare hands, with wounded soldiers bandaging wounded soldiers, blood is going to be mixed. What if that gay soldier is HIV positive? How many other soldiers could be infected by his blood? Does anybody give a damn? Apparently not the Congress; not the media; and not the American people because they certainly did not raise a major outcry against repeal.
A sucking chest wound inflicted by a bullet is not uncommon in combat. It is necessary to get the chest cavity sealed as quickly as possible. Ideally, the person treating the wound will have rubber gloves. What if none are available? If the wounded soldier is known to be gay, someone has to make a decision whether to use his hands to cover the bullet hole while applying a dressing, or letting the guy die. What member of Congress is willing to make that choice? I have seen traumatic amputations in combat. There is a great deal of blood. The first reaction is to wretch. Apparently the idiots that voted for repeal of the gay ban actually believe that it is possible to treat that wound without getting the blood on oneself. In another fight I had a medic give mouth to mouth to a soldier who was mortally wounded to try to sustain him long enough to be med-evac’d. How much of his blood did my medic ingest? Apparently the 315 medical doctors in the House and Senate who voted for repeal have a good answer to how future medics will provide similar treatment to gay soldiers. Again, the choice – treat the gay soldier and possibly die yourself, or don’t treat him and let him die.
What if the medic is gay and is treating the wounded although wounded himself? Or has cut himself while taking care of the wounded? I guess for the gay rights advocates it will be perfectly acceptable for him to infect wounded soldiers, because, after all, the gay person is a repressed minority so cannot be condemned for anything.
How does this sorry bunch called Congress propose to prevent an HIV positive person from being in the situation in which I found myself? Will everyone have to undergo HIV testing? How often based on the incubation rate? We know damn well there will be no requirement that only gay soldiers get frequent testing because that would be discriminatory. Better to let a gay soldier go untested than have a heterosexual soldier die after being infected…
How about the Congress simply decree that gay soldiers may not serve in combat units? Therefore, gay soldiers will have the least amount of risk for being wounded. Just let heterosexuals face the bullets and the RPGs so tainted blood will not be an issue. I would not be surprised if some moron in Congress actually proposes that.
…the ones who pay the price are not the bastards who voted for it, but the soldiers and the families who volunteered to serve the nation. This vote has the potential to devastate the military. …10%-15% of the military say they will get out. If that happens we will be in an extremely serious situation.”
Dr. Kiper’s graphic and impassioned argument does indeed give one much to think about and although he also addressed the moral/Biblical view, this is an aspect of the argument most never think about.
But this issue is not only front and center in Washington, but many city councils are being forced by the gay lobby to address the issue of special rights for homosexuals and codification of the lifestyle. One of these is Manhattan, Kansas where the Council recently narrowly passed an ordinance that would wage heavy fines upon any business or landlord’s discretion in hiring or housing homosexuals.
The move was hotly debated within the community, with anyone who took a Biblically based moral stance being labeled as “homophobic, hateful, bigots”. It is remarkable that, when activists have only emotional arguments with few or no facts, they quickly digress into name calling, hissing, and shouting.
I enjoined in the written debate and was soon told that since Christians were supposed to love everyone those opposing the ordinance were hypocrites. Then, that Jesus never spoke out or taught against homosexuality, and the Old Testament passages referring to it were null and void since Jesus cancelled out the Law. These arguments are often used as ‘proof’ that Jesus never condemned homosexuality and thus Christians, who refer to the Bible when opposing these types of moral issues, are just wrong.
Ok, a Biblical response:
Firstly, Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 5:17-18 that He did not come to destroy the Law and the Prophets (Old Testament) but to fulfill it. Then He goes on to say that until ‘heaven and earth pass’ not even a punctuation mark will be changed in the Law till it is fulfilled. He further states that if you break one commandment you have broken them all. Not only the actual doing of the thing but the very thought of the sin is enough to condemn you. “If you look upon a maid to lust after her, you have committed adultery in your heart already.”
[The New Testament begins at the ‘death of the Testator’, Christ, according to Hebrews and every estate judge in the land. Jesus walked the Earth in an Old Testament economy. Yeah, I know…it’ll take a minute to grasp that one!]
As a matter of fact, Jesus does speak against fornication (sexual intercourse outside of marriage) which includes not only homosexual activity, but also heterosexual intercourse, pedophilia, incest, bestiality and so forth. While Jesus does not specifically name “homosexuality”, but neither does he specifically name “incest, pedophilia, or bestiality”. Does lack of specific mention codify or legitimize sexual intercourse with a minor child or animal, or even necrophilia (with the dead)? I would hope that you would agree that it doesn’t.
I would allow that certain individuals may have a predisposed propensity for homosexual attraction, but so do pedophiles, and zoophiles. Alcoholics also have a predisposed propensity for their weakness. If these could not be controlled there would be no “sober” alcoholics, just as there would be no “former” homosexuals. Obviously there are many who have overcome these predispositions.
The question of sexuality is not even necessarily a simple “religious” question concerning morality but is as much a scientific or biological question and environment plays a huge role in development. What is the purpose of copulation in nature? In nature every species “mates,” only at specific times, for one purpose: Propagation of the species. Ours is the only species that is capable of spontaneous copulation, or “recreational” intercourse (for mutual pleasure), propagation of the species notwithstanding, and the only one equipped to look into the eyes of our mate while engaged. (The Bible says the eyes are the window to the soul; thus for humans, sex is a spiritual act/communion as well.)
Nonetheless, the baser “natural” lust of mankind, becomes tempered by morality; a philosophical if not religious attitude that contains our urges, lest we succumb to our “desires” in every public venue. So then, there are advantages to societal limitations (moral guidelines, if you will) on what behavior is ‘acceptable’ and where, especially when you consider public viewing of these activities, age of consent (pedophilia), interspecies copulation (bestiality) and so on. Everyone lives according to someone’s morality, even if they claim to be amoral. Society demands it.
The logical conclusion to the matter is that open sexual activity which is harmful to society therefore is, and must be regulated; if not by law, then at least by some moral principle which has been established by that society in order to maintain a social order which will preserve and propagate the society. Read Greek and Roman history to see examples of great societies which fully and openly embrace homosexuality to understand the effect it has.
The real problem here is not even that LGBT’s want to do what they do, but demanding that the rest of society embrace or condone it. I don’t care what you do in the privacy of your bedroom. I just don’t want government telling me I have to embrace it by providing you that bedroom to do it in. That infringes upon my Constitutional rights, which are in fact apparent, and lacking no uncertainty.
Hearkening back to “What would Jesus Do?” I can’t help but pose the thought that those practicing homosexuality and refuse the call of Jesus to “go and sin no more” are no different than those people with any other sin, be it another “lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, or the pride of life”. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Experiencing God is not just for the afterlife; it is for this life. This is the “abundant life” that Jesus spoke of.
A person who refuses reconciliation with God either thinks himself too great, or God too small.
No other war in history has been met by such an imbecilic response as the Jihad America finds itself in. In order to survive a nation must be willing to identify and then subsequently meet the enemy on the battlefield using tactics that are effective enough to thwart the enemy attack. Unless and until the enemy is identified there is no hope for victory. Just ask Thomas Jefferson, who so often is hailed as owning a Koran. He read it in order to know and understand the enemy he was facing in the “Barbary Pirates” who were ravaging trade ships in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic coasts of Spain and Africa. Then he sent the Marines to the “Shores of Tripoli”. Jefferson did not try to negotiate with the “Musselmen” (then popular term for “Muslim”). He met them according to their own terms. No more piracy from that source for many years.

Sometime in the future the morning headline reads:
“America Invaded: New Totalitarian Government Established”
As you read the story that follows, you learn that Communists from America’s old arch nemesis, Russia have been successfully infiltrating American institutions for the last 30 years. The “invasion” was not the expected typical military type where the Red Army poses an amphibious assault accompanied by paratroopers, air strikes and hoards of infantry and hardware. No this invasion has been much more covert; so much so that the American public has even assisted the enemy in achieving a stealth invasion and consequent subversion of existing government and society.
Slowly, and steadily, agents were strategically placed in American media that were sympathetic to the Communist cause, and given orders to influence and subvert all information to enhance the public view of Communism on news and entertainment venues throughout the land. Leadership positions inside trade unions, civic organizations, and sports clubs had been infiltrated by dues paying members whom no one ever suspected of having subversive ideologies contrary to the American way of life. The United States Government played an impressive role in bringing these agents inside by issuing thousands of work and student visas to applicants from countries under Communist rule. Many never reported to class.
They were even allowed under American law to establish nonprofit organizations to propagate their message and raise funding and recruit new members for foreign military operations that would endanger Americans and our allies, both at home and abroad. These organizations brandish such titles as: “Communist Students of America (CSA)”, “North American Communist Trust” (NACT), “Communist Society of North America”(CSNA), and “Communist American Youth Association” (CAYA). These were but a few of the groups under the umbrella of the Communist Brotherhood, a known terrorist organization bent on spreading communism across the world and bringing the entire globe under Communist rule.
Government offices, departments and bureau’s, as well as private corporations, had been unwittingly hiring employees and contractors whose intended purpose was to infiltrate and network inside these institutions in order to bring them under control of the Party. Anyone who objected or tried to inform the public of what was happening was instantly relegated by the media to the “fringes” and labeled “Commiephobes”. Even the American military had been infiltrated by these tactics as peer pressure and fear of losing pensions, and positions kept officers and supervisors from exposing these Communist agents, even though they were openly propagating Communist ideology in briefings and classrooms.
Academic centers from major universities right on down to the elementary grade schools had been encouraged by the Department of Education, teachers unions and text book publishers to teach students the virtues of Communism while ignoring the human rights violations that perpetuate the reality of Communist run states. Many teachers and classrooms had been invited by local Communist Party leaders to bring students to participate in educational activities at known Communist education centers, which introduced them to the Communist ideology and invited the students to actually take part in some of the activities reserved strictly for Party members, including learning the credo of all faithful Party members. All the while, the message to the students is the superiority of Communism and the inferiority of all other forms of government.
“How could this have happened?” you ask yourself, stunned to find armed guards standing on your very own neighborhood street corner. Martial law has been declared and you awoke this morning to the brand new Peoples Republic of Amerika.
Sound ludicrous?
Of course. Everyone knows that Americans would never stand by and let Communists infiltrate and subvert our society and government, yes even help them by encouraging fellow Americans to “accept and tolerate” the Communist propaganda perpetrated throughout our media. Neither would our citizens, under the guise of “pluralism”, accept the indoctrination of our students and children as an “alternative belief system” through our schools. The moment parents witnessed their 5th grader reciting the Communist Manifesto and pretending to be Karl Marx or Joe Stalin, the local school board would be inundated with angry complaints demanding this ideology be stripped from the curriculum. (Well… one would hope this would be the case.)
However, this is precisely what has happened and is happening at this very moment. With one minor difference. Go back and read the “fictional” story and substitute the word “Communist” with the word “Islam” or Muslim”. Now it is no longer fictional. It is fact.
Islam has been infiltrating America for 30 years at every level. And while we have not yet awaken to find ourselves living under Sharia Law, that morning may not be far off.
It is fact that Islam has made deep inroads into American society via every major facet of culture, finance, education and government, as well as religion. We now see mainstream Protestant churches welcoming Islamic clerics for “interfaith dialogue” with their congregants. Mostly, “interfaith dialogue” is a euphemism for “Islam speaks, Christians listen”. A historic Christian church in Denver, CO added a Shiite Muslim cleric to their staff in 2004, to head up their “Abrahamic Initiative”, while maintaining his position as head of the Islamic Center of Ahl Al-Beit in west Denver. Huh?
Sharia compliant finance is fast becoming a standard policy of major banks and corporations worldwide. The White House just recently brought in a “White House Fellow”, Samir Ali, who has been working for the law firm Hogan Lovells – which claims to have advised on more than 200 Islamic finance transactions with an aggregate deal value in excess of $40 billion. Her duties in the Department of Homeland Security, according to the White House website: “She is responsible for counseling clients on mergers & acquisitions, cross-border transactions, Shariah-compliant transactions, project finance and international business matters. During her time with Hogan Lovells, she has been a founding member of the firm’s Abu Dhabi office.”
Other Obama Administration appointees include: Rashaad Hussain, Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Conference (the worldwide Islamic religion’s delegation to the United Nations); Kareem Shora, Advisory Council, DHS; Dalia Mogahed, Advisor to the President on issues facing the Muslim Community in the United States (an outspoken proponent of Sharia Law); Arif Alikhan, Assistant Secretary for Policy Development, DHS.
In Fort Hood, Texas, the political correctness in the US Army became obvious as Major Nidal Hasan declared jihad and killed 13 soldiers and wounded 43 more in the name of Allah, “the Beneficent, the Merciful”. Hasan had been speaking and telegraphing his future actions for months. While stationed outside Washington he attended the well known Dar al-Hijra (Land of Migration) Mosque, in Falls Church, VA. In 2007, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, he gave a presentation entitled, “The Koranic World View As It Relates to Muslims in the U.S. Military”, in which he laid out the problems and misgivings of Muslims in the American military of the United States deploying Muslims to fight Muslims. He went on to quote both Koran and Hadith passages which instruct Muslims to fight non-Muslims and bring them under submission of Islam. On his slide number 48 he says, “We love death more then (sic) you love life”. His recommendation was this, “Department of Defense should allow Muslim Soldiers the option of being released as “Conscientious objectors” to increase troop morale and decrease adverse events.” (Nidal Hasan) [Emphasis added] After the shooting, several reports surfaced about people who voiced concern, or noticed these signs, and yet nothing was done for fear of “rocking the boat”.
[Out of this tragic loss of our noble soldiers, who perished under enemy fire (IMO), comes one small shred of satisfaction: Hasan, the great mujahidin, was not permitted the status of martyrdom, rejected by Allah, and taken down by an infidel woman nearly half his size, who pumped 3 rounds into him before he could shoot himself or anyone else. He will not walk again and faces the death penalty. Poetic justice indeed.]
Islamic network organizations abound in the US of which many have been tied to recruiting and financing terrorism. They enjoy the status and protections under American law as “charitable”, “research”, and “civil rights” organizations yet have the unified goal of replacing American law with Sharia, and thus the destruction of the United States as we have known it. These groups are as follows: MAYA (Muslim Arab Youth Association), AIG (American Islamic Group), ICW (Islamic Cultural Workshop), CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), AMC (American Muslim Council), ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America), MPAC (Muslim Public Affairs Council), AMA (American Muslim Alliance), ISNA (Islamic Society of North America). These groups and many more are part of an umbrella group known as “Muslim Brotherhood” or “The Ikwan”.
Steven Emerson, perhaps America’s foremost authority on Islamic Terrorism, authored “American Jihad-The Terrorists Living Among Us”, in which he exposes these groups and their ties to Al-Qaida, HAMAS, Hizballah and Islamic Jihad, all four terrorist groups which are present in many cities across the United States. For instance, HAMAS is active in Kansas City, Dallas, Tucson, LA, New York, and Houston. Al Qaida is active in Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, Columbia, MO, and Arlington, TX. These groups are not new; many have been here dating back to the 1970’s.
Something that is fairly new is the appearance of charter schools sponsored or administrated by more benign Islamic groups. Many of these non-militant groups are of Turkish origin and can be traced to Fethullah Gulen, a Turk who lives in Saylorsburg, PA. Students receive a well disciplined education in the sciences and the arts, and also a generous dose of Islamic indoctrination. Many of these schools receive Federal money. Mr. Gulen can be associated with at least 85 of these charter schools in the United States. He is known here as an educator, and philanthroper, but in Turkey, he is known as the single most powerful influence pushing the historically secularized Turkish government toward Islamization. He escaped Turkey in 1998, fleeing to the US, avoiding charges of sedition against the government of Turkey. In 2002, the FBI was pressing to deport him, but the Bush administration stopped the process. Mr. Gulen has enjoyed the admiration of three US Presidents to date, and has been key in establishment of, not only Islamic charter schools, but aided by the Bush administration, the “Institute for Interfaith Dialogue” as well as a myriad of other groups such as “Raindrop Turkish House”, “Turquoise Council of American-Eurasians”(TCAE), The Gulen Institute, Atlas Foundation, and EbruTV. These organizations all form intercultural relationships with key American administrators, businesses, government offices on all levels, legislators, and civil services.
The formal description in Islam is “Dawa”. This is basically “peaceful jihad”. The strategy is this: Americans reject violent jihad (terrorism). However, they do seem to have great respect for smiling gentlemen in business suits from cultures and societies other than their own. The ultimate objective is the same as the jihadi’s, only the means are different. Establishment of Sharia, and the “Global Ummah” (Islamic community).
Another method that seems to be gaining popularity is unabashed barging into the public school system through textbooks which contain heavy Islamic influenced propaganda extolling the virtues of the “one true religion” and barely a passing mention to Christianity and Judaism.
If that isn’t bold enough take a look at this video in which a Massachusetts public school classroom was invited for a “field day at the Mosque” and then invited to pray with the Muslims.
Still not convinced? Go back to sleep. The morning paper will be on your doorstep…
That quote eludes to a movement that had great gains in the early 1900’s known as “Progressivism”, who’s chief advocate of that time was the Harding/Coolidge administration’s predecessor Woodrow Wilson (D).
Wilsons successor Warren Harding was a “moderate” Republican who died after 2 years in office leaving his conservative VP Coolidge in the Oval Office.
Coolidge is not without his warts and many blame lack of controls on Wall Street for the “Crash of ’29”.
Folks we are really swinging to the “Progressive” left right now but could the momentum be slowing a bit as Americans begin to earnestly realize where we are? Perhaps 2010 will see a conservative sweep of Congress and Obama will be “One and Out” in ’12. Time will tell.
So while you celebrate the “4th” and this great country we have been given, maybe give a passing thought to “Silent Cal” Coolidge on his birthday. Then have another hotdog…
If this had been a Christian advocating and supporting genocide against Muslims, it would have been on every major network that evening and every daytime show all week. Startling double standard.
Note: This will be too lengthy a study to develop in one post, so I will break it up a bit into more digestible portions. This is the first in a three part series entitled “Turkish Connection”. When finished with this post be sure to read II and III.
Will Turkey Replace Israel as America’s Chief Ally in the Middle East?
The evidence confirming that possibility is becoming too great to ignore and I intend to expound upon it from a couple of different approaches.
After several months of hinting to Israel that the newest American administration may not be so supportive of the Jewish State, recent weeks have clarified that point with stark contrast to previous administrations going all the way back to Harry Truman and the declaration of Israel’s independence in 1948.
President Obama and his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, along with Joe Biden, James Baker and others in the Cabinet, have made it clear that Israel can no longer depend on the backing of the US Government.
The Left in the United States has long been known for its anti-Israel sentiment, even to the point of parroting “Palestinian” propaganda demonizing the Israeli response to repeated terrorist attacks upon civilians in schools, café’s , buses, and nightclubs not to mention random “potshots” by Palestinian rockets numbering in the thousands before Israel finally responded. The standard sentiment in the media is ‘Jews are fair game but Israel is not allowed to respond’. The Jewish State of Israel has become the “redheaded stepchild” of the West, and world leaders are loathe to utter a sincere sympathetic statement or any such moral support on her behalf.
The “Palestinian problem” is now Israel’s to solve unilaterally. The problem is not Israel’s handling of the situation. Nothing she does will be acceptable. The problem is this. Israel exists.
This sentiment is exhibited by most of Europe, South America, Africa, and all of Islam. Never mind the historical fact that the “Palestinians” were mostly Jordanian or Egyptian citizens prior to the invasion of Israel by five surrounding Arab states the day after she proclaimed independence. The UN Partition Plan would have forged two states; one Jewish, the other Arab. The Jews agreed. The Arabs did not and vowed to “drive the Jews into the Sea.” The only real change is where the lines are, and that only the result of Israel’s own security provisions.
That Partition Plan of 1947 was the result of much discussion, planning and compromise which characterized the expiration of the British Mandate issued by The League of Nations back in 1922 after the breakup of the 600 year old Ottoman Empire at the end of World War One. The Mandate charged Britain with governance of the territories from the Mediterenean Sea to Mesopotamia which included Palestine, Transjordan, and modern Iraq. It also reinforced the Balfour Declaration of 1917 citing Palestine or a portion thereof to become recognized as a future Jewish State. By the end of WW2 the Jews were more than glad to relocate to their ancient homeland of King David where Israel and Judah had prospered two millennia prior. The Jewish Diaspora expired.
The Ottoman Empire had been the seat of the Islamic Caliphate for 400 years. After the Ottoman’s (Sunni Muslim) conquered the Fatimid Dynasty (Shia Muslim) beginning in the 14th century and reaching its own zenith in the 16th century, Sunni Islam became the dominant school of theology, pushing Shiism into small pockets and containing it to Persia (Iran) where it continues to be dominant. The Ottoman Empire, allied with Germany, came to a close after the end of World War 1 when Great Britain was successful in driving the Turks from Palestine, Transjordan, Syria and most of the Arabian Penninsula., with the help of the Arab tribes who were loosely unified by Sir Thomas Edward Lawrence.
With the demise of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Revolution, a new Republic of Turkey was established and under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the Caliphate was abolished and a new secularized government began to develop a prosperous economic and political player on the world stage. Turkey managed to remain neutral during most of WW2, finally joining the Allies in 1945. The new Eurasian country became a strategic ally to the United States and Europe during the Cold War and has maintained good relations with the West for the most part since its inception.
Many have extolled the success of Turkey as a model for the Islamic world to emulate, successfully balancing an Islamic culture with a modern secularized government. It has, thus far, been the most Westernized Islamic country in the region.
However, a recent movement is afoot in Turkey to Islamize the government. This is not, for the most part, a radical militant movement such as Al-Qaida or Hamas, but a more subtle movement that is better served by maintaining a peaceful appearance and a smile, extending the hand of friendship and unity while educating the opponent and his children. This movement has a leader who has opposed a secular government in Turkey since the 1960’s and was arrested by the Turkish authorities in ’71 for “clandestine religious activities” after which he was harassed occasionally. He has met with Pope John Paul II, Greek Orthodox and other Christian leaders, as well as Jewish Rabbi’s in an effort to moderate, and “build bridges” between Islam and the West.
Fethullah Gulen, a Sunni Imam, has become a major figure in the United States since his ‘migration’ here in 1998, reportedly to seek treatment for diabetes. According to Rachel Sharon-Krespin writing for Middle East Quarterly, his “absence also enabled Gülen to escape questioning on his indictment in 2000 for allegedly promoting insurrection in Turkey in a series of secretly-recorded sermons.” It is also reported that although he has not lived in Turkey for the past 12 years, he has had tremendous influence there to the point of “Islamizing” the Turkish government, so much so that all government employees are Muslim. So much for secular government in Turkey…More on that…
This is a departure from my current theme, however since I have seen nothing concerning this story in major or mainstream media, including the Topeka, Kansas newspaper (Topeka Capital Journal) I thought my readers deserve to know.
Forty one Kansas State Legislators recently received emails from a Pakistani (illegal) immigrant inviting them to convert to Islam. My district Representative began to forward them to me as she received them, asking for my thoughts. There were numerous Islamic doctrinal statements and books attached to these emails. They began almost the same day that a group of Muslims visited the State Capital in order to improve relations between Turkey and Kansas (TCAE) based out of Houston, Tx. It should be noted I have not found a connection to this group.
I advised my Representative as well as several others that this could be a sign of an impending attack on the Capital or Legislators. It turns out Kansas was not the only Legislature targeted by these emails. At the least, Oklahoma had received the same kind of “invitation”, and there may have been others.
The emails were sent by Javid Kamal, living in Dallas, and with just a bit of “googling” I found he was from Pakistan, and had listed anti-Israel/anti-Western comments on a pro-Iranian website. I didn’t realize he was in America illegally until after his arrest by FBI on Friday, March 26. He has been deported back to Pakistan. At least that is what I have been told.
According to Islam, there are three options for a “kafur” (unbeliever/infidel). Convert, Submit, or Die. If you convert to Islam, you are welcomed into Dar-al-Islam (House of Islam) as a brother. If you don’t convert, you have two options: Submit or Die. If you choose to submit, you can live under Islamic rule as a second class citizen (dhimmi) with the obligation to yield to Muslims in everything and pay the jizya tax (protection money). Don’t choose to convert, or submit, you must die. This is the ideology of the Fundamentalist Muslim and the directive of Islam. Islam by the way translates “Submission”. World wide conquest is the fundamental goal of Islam, either by conversion or conquest, but Islam must dominate the world. This is not my opinion, this is what Islamic Books say (Koran, Hadith, etc).
We in America fail to understand this very basic concept of what we are dealing with. If you do not belong to Dar Al Islam then you are in Dar Al Harb, “House of War”. It’s pretty self explanatory.
Muslims are required by Koran and Hadith to give “invitation” to accept Islam prior to committing a violent jihad.
Mr. Kamal’s last letter of Sunday March 21 was indicated as his “final notice” to the Kansas officials. When the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) showed up in Dallas, he was not to be found at home or work, and not even his family knew where he was.
However, the fact remains that news media remains silent on this story.

TCAE has an affiliate in Lenexa, Ks. (Kansas City) called “Raindrop Turkish House” (google it) whose mission is to “promote and encourage continuing good relationship and create an opportunity to further enrich our cultural understanding by bringing together the leaders of the State [of] Kansas and the members from Turkish parliament.”
Several Kansas dignitaries have taken “junkets” to Turkey funded by this organization, which hosts social events for government organizations and officials ranging from Legislators, to Fire Department Chiefs, city mayors, to the local FBI division.
Turkey’s desire is to play the role of a bridge between East and West.
There have been, in the course of American History, different periods of development; an “evolution” or “progression” if you will, of our society. Today’s American citizenry would not recognize the Founders’ America any clearer than those American Founders would recognize today’s society. We exist on the same Continental soil, but beyond that, pitiful little have we in common.
Those periods of societal evolution can be traced, in large part, to a few historical events that had prodigious effects on American society, both politically and culturally. We shall explore only the most obvious of those in the next two installments for the sake of brevity.
Of course, to begin at the beginning, we must precede the beginning.
The Colonial Period: The Mayflower Compact was the first document in the New World which set forth and outlined the commitment to rule of law and self governance for the good of society, in the absence of a ruling power. (While they agreed to status of “loyal subjects of the King” of Britain, the Pilgrims were on their own, as there was no pre-existing structure of government and law enforcement.) Only the “Laws of Nature and Nature’s God” would be enforceable in this wilderness settlement for several years, until the Colony became established. Survival was the immediate goal; all else would become secondary. Self governance of the individual would become the key to the survival of the community.
This principle carried through the entire colonial period and served to galvanize the American culture as the frontier was settled. As the Colonies became more prosperous, the British Crown exacted more governance, the end of which was the eight year long American Revolutionary War and subsequent independence.
Post Revolution: The ratification of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights emphasized those same principles of self governance, delineating the limitations of Federal government, and charging the Federal and State governments with protecting and preserving the rights of the individual. Continuing the American tradition of “Rule of Law”, the individual citizen continues to recognize the importance of self control and the intrinsic value of citizenship. Not “citizenship” as in simply “born in America” therefore due an equal portion, but citizenship as in exercising ones God given rights, not to mention ones duty, in civil matters as well as socially. The cooperation of responsible individuals makes for responsible communities. Likewise, the responsible community holds the individual accountable, and the personal accountability is rooted in belief and faith in a Supreme Deity which is the ultimate Judge and Lawgiver. In Western civilization, that faith foundation is and has been for Millennia, Judeo-Christian.
James Madison, Member of the 1st Congress and 4th President of the United States said this concerning self governance: “The future of America lies not in the Constitution, or anything but our ability to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.” That sentiment is echoed in the words of former Speaker of the House (1847-1849) Robert Winthrop: “Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled either by a power within them or by a power without them; either by the Word of God or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible or by the bayonet.”
John Adams, the 2nd President had this to say, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people; it is wholly inadequate to the governance of any other.” This was not an uncommon sentiment in early America. In fact, it had so saturated American culture that in 1838 the New York State Legislature issued this statement:
“With us it is wisely ordered that no one religion shall be established by law, but that all persons shall be left free in their choice and in their mode of worship. Still, this is a Christian nation. Ninety-nine hundredths, if not a larger proportion, of our whole population, believe in the general doctrines of the Christian religion. Our Government depends for its being on the virtue of the people, — on that virtue that has its foundation in the morality of the Christian religion; and that religion is the common and prevailing faith of the people. “[Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States, Developed in the Official and Historical Annals of the Republic, 1864, B.F. Morris]
Can you imagine any governing body today, let alone a state legislature, issuing such a statement?!
This was the period (early to mid-1800’s) known as the “Second Great Awakening”; when Christian Revival swept across the land. It lasted up into the Civil War years. (“The Great Awakening” was 100 years earlier, fostered by missionaries and itinerate preachers like Charles Finney and David Brainerd.)
The Civil War/War Between the States: The war that divided America was a particularly horrendous event, which if Europe had not been previously devastated by war itself, could very well have been used by European nations to regain the entire North American Continent. This time in American history has always been a point of fascination for me personally.
The technological advances of weaponry during the Civil War were so rapid that the antiquated tactics of massing forces to take a battlefield resulted in massive bloodshed. Casualties would mount into the tens of thousands during a single battle. Three days of fighting at Gettysburg in 100 degree July heat would result in 51,000 casualties; dead, wounded, or missing from both sides. “The Bloodiest Day” at Antietam Creek saw 26,000 Americans dead or wounded. Sometimes it took weeks to bury the dead.
This was the most horrendous 4 years in American history. Over 600,000 American soldiers, North and South, died during this time. That is more than all the subsequent wars fought since, combined.
The newest journalistic tool in 1862 was the camera. Matthew Brady exposed hundreds of plates burnishing the images of bloated dead American men, many where he found them on the field, into the minds of civilians who never heard a shot fired. These images haunt us yet today. Find them. Study them.
I once heard a historian say that the Civil War defined us as a people. I disagree. I believe this was a tragedy of such magnitude that America became shell shocked and never fully understood who she was afterward. This war was not fought on some remote field in another land; it happened on our front lawns, our corn fields, and in our living rooms. We witnessed it first hand; saw our sons butchered in muddy ditches that drained into creeks thickened with their blood. We picked up their severed body parts from among our dead livestock. Our brothers returned maimed for life, and many of our fathers and husbands simply never came home. Hunger and disease took its toll on civilians across the land. America never recovered from this emotional trauma. [Note: The Civil War was a politically complicated affair and had the Confederacy gained its independence as a sovereign nation, there would certainly have been another war (over western expansion) that could very well have been much worse than what was.]
The economic destruction from the war was no less debilitating if not crippling. Politically, a sea change had occurred as a result of the Civil War. A stronger and much more centralized Federal government sprang forth from the ashes and was fertilized by the stench of death. Perhaps most importantly, the spiritual breath had been knocked out of American society. The faith of the American people had been shaken; their resolve and purpose brought into question, and answers were in short supply.
As a result, for the next 3 decades, many Americans trying to put the war years behind them, turned westward. Whatever happened in Washington or the East was of little or no concern to a war weary population. Homestead land allotments offered many Americans their first taste of government subsidization. The taste was sweet. The promise of a new start was even sweeter in “your America”.
This article first published Dec. 8,2009 under title of:
Statesmen, Stupid, or “Suicidal”
Revised March 1, 2010 and included as first in a series of articles entitled “Euramerika”.
I heard a radio talk show host a few months ago talking about the Liberals “End Game”. The question was, “What is their end game”? I thought about that for a while and I will share a few of those thoughts in this article…
The first nature of a politician is to compromise. Sometimes it is necessary in order to get legislation passed; perhaps as a politician you don’t get everything you wanted in a bill, but after wrangling and lots of discussion you decide that you can support the amendments of the opposition in order to pass a bill that contains the basics that you were in favor of for the benefit of your constituents. Consensus always comes by compromise. This is inherently how politics works, like it or not.
The second nature of a politician is self preservation. One cannot compromise too much without risking the support of the constituency in the next election. Very few individuals in the political realm will act without considering these consequences.
Then, on occasion in history, we have seen in a politician real statesmanship. That is, a wisdom and understanding of when compromise is acceptable in achieving a goal for “the greater good”, and when compromise is detrimental to society. When the dust settles, (perhaps years later) the statesman is vindicated and even though his constituency as well as many colleagues may have opposed him at the onset, he’s hailed a hero. This type of politician, a true statesman, only comes along once every other generation or so. These would be men such as the American Founders. Winston Churchill also comes to mind along with Abraham Lincoln, Calvin Coolidge and Margaret Thatcher. (I suppose I should say ‘Statesperson’ to be PC, but that’s another article.) I would even go so far as to throw Ronald Reagan in that classification, just as a recent example, though some of my readers may not agree. (Too bad, it’s my article and I have no pretense of being an “objective journalist”!)
My conundrum is, across the current political landscape, identifying the goal of the players; “The end game”? What is the ultimate objective? My opinion…
I believe we are at a point in history in America that has been long awaited by some for perhaps as long as 100 years. The “Progressive Movement” that was so much of who Woodrow Wilson was, has come to the point of balance that is very near tipping. Once that balance shifts, there will be no return to America as we have known it. Perhaps it already has.
What possesses a politician to oppose his constituents on a matter? Statesmanship? Yes, at times that has been the case. But have we suddenly morphed scores of new statesmen from formerly career politicians? I shall withhold my full reaction to that question at this juncture. Suffice to say, Not!
So if not ‘statesmanship’, then what, ‘stupidity’? Perhaps…“Stupid is as stupid does” you know. But I find it hard to believe there are that many stupid people who could get elected.
So if not statesmanship or stupidity, then what? Suicide? Now there’s a real possibility. Just think of them as “suicide voters”. The empire of Japan brought us the “Kamikaze”, the suicide pilot. Islam has brought us the “suicide bomber”. Now the Progressive movement has brought to America the “suicide politician”!
Does anyone really believe that if this Congress continues to act against their constituents’ loud opposition to the “Bailouts”, “Stimulus”, “ObamaCare”, and “Cap and Trade” that they can stand for re-election this year? Seriously, it is as if the mission of the legislation has become the objective and the people nothing more than a means to fulfill the objective. Not by consent of course, but as the piggy bank. (I believe it was Mrs. Thatcher who said, “The trouble with socialism is eventually you run out of other peoples’ money.”)
But that doesn’t work either. It goes against the second nature of preservation for a politician to sacrifice everything for nothing. However, there may be a few who could be persuaded by their leadership that their “run is done” anyway, and others may be “persuaded” to get on the bandwagon or suffer the (scandalous) consequences. (Reminiscent of the Gestapo of the 3rd Reich)
Then there is the true believer, the martyr, the “Jihadi warrior” who truly supports the objective. They are the leadership and faithful believers who march lock step toward the objective, no matter the price, some even believing that the rewards will be “Paradise” or at least a political payback or immunity. (Sorry boys, no 72 black-eyed virgins; only Nancy Pelosi!)
The objective?
Consider “Dissolution”. In order to “fundamentally change” anything you must change the fundamentals. That is, completely dissolve what you want to replace and begin again. It is a tactic that has been used by Revolutionaries for centuries.
Columnist Mark Steyn began his November 23 column “Happy Warrior” in National Review magazine by quoting the famous German poet and playwright, Bertolt Brecht, who after the East German uprising in 1953 wrote this: “Would it not be easier for the government to dissolve the people and elect another?”
Dissolve the people…yeah, that could work…like through pluralism, secularism, revisionist history, open borders, affirmative action, Darwinism, reparations, and class warfare! The rules as well as the objective, the “end game”, were established a hundred years ago! A brief study of Woodrow Wilson reveals a philosophy akin to Karl Marx. Wilson with no help from the US Congress, was key in forming the League of Nations, later to become the UN. We all know what a smashing success that utopian idea has become.
During the 2008 Presidential campaign, Candidate Barak Obama did say he wanted to “fundamentally change America”. I concede that we do have some problems, but the fundamentals are not among them. In fact, the problems we have are due to leaving the fundamentals behind and pursuing something that doesn’t exist, making it up as we go.
Obama also referred to himself, as have others such as Senator Clinton, as “Progressive” after the model of Woodrow Wilson and FDR. He then declared, “Our time has come!” Who’s time has come? “Ours” as in America’s, or “Ours” as in Progressives. Or was he speaking to someone else?
Brecht was of course, a Marxist. We call them “Progressives” today in Euramerika.
