HAMAS in the United States

26 07 2014

ontheriseI’m sure you’ve seen the anti-Israel protests going on all across the country since Israel has been returning fire to Gaza.

A friend (H/T Causing Fitna) actually attended and video taped one of these in Kansas City which was organized by The Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City, the local affiliate of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). ISNA along with Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Muslim Students Assn (MSA), and North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), are just a few of the Muslim Brotherhood affiliates named by the Brotherhood in its “Explanatory Memorandum-Strategic Goal for the Group[MB] in North America” and CAIR, ISNA, and NAIT are also listed by the U.S. Federal Court as “unindicted co-conspirators” in the largest terrorist funding trial in American history, The Holy Land Foundation trial of 2008.

[Addendum revision]
For a bit of background on CAIR’s connection to HAMAS I include these two paragraphs from Discoverthenetworks.org website:

CAIR was co-founded in 1994 by Nihad Awad and Omar Ahmad, both of whom had close ties to the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was established by senior Hamas operative Mousa Abu Marzook and functioned as Hamas’ public relations and recruitment arm in the United States. Awad and Ahmad previously had served, respectively, as IAP’s Public Relations Director and President. Thus it can be said that CAIR was an outgrowth of IAP.

CAIR opened its first office in Washington, DC, with the help of a $5,000 donation from the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a self-described charity founded by Mousa Abu Marzook. In May 1996, CAIR coordinated a press conference to protest the decision of the U.S. government to extradite Marzook for his connection to terrorist acts performed by Hamas. CAIR characterized the extradition as “anti-Islamic” and “anti-American.” When President Bush closed HLF in December 2001 for collecting money “to support the Hamas terror organization,” CAIR decried his action as “unjust” and “disturbing.”

HLF was designated a terrorist organization in December of 2001. CAIR and it’s fellow organizations remain as “unindicted co-conspirators”.[Addendum conluded]

The reason these groups remain “un-indicted” is because we got a new President in 2008 and those indictments were suspended.

A Federal judge ruled on a appeal by the groups that there is indeed enough evidence to tie them to HAMAS, the terrorist organization that gavel HLFreceived the bulk of the funding collected in the United States, and refused to remove the designation “unindicted co-conspirators” from those groups in the US.

CAIR in particular has been a major player in downplaying any “jihad” or “Islamic terrorist” references in the American media and the US Government lexicon, actually influencing the Pentagon and the DoD, as well as DoJ to redact references to anything Islamic in official reports, such as the Fort Hood terrorist attack by Nidal Hassan, who was openly carrying out his jihad by killing 13 and wounding 30 unarmed military personnel.

These Muslim Brotherhood affiliates in the United States have mostly been working “under the radar” to influence American society for many years now, but have most recently begun to become very open in their activities, due to an Administration who has embraced the Islamic religion as seemingly the “preferred” religion. As they become more open and emboldened we will see more aggressive behavior, as delineated in this explanation of the MB methods.

As these protests against Israel across America heat up, more and more clarity is given to who these people actually are. Take a look at this video of a recent CAIR rally in Miami, Fla., where they are actually yelling, “We are HAMAS!” and calling for genocide on the State of Israel. “Free Palestine” is not simply a chant supporting Gaza or West Bank. It means that all of “Palestine”, as they chant “From the River to the Sea”, meaning from Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea. This was the declaration issued by Sheik Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, that the Jews will be driven into the Sea by the Arabs, New York Times, Aug 1, 1948.

Al-Banna founded the Brotherhood in 1928, with the sole purpose of re-establishing the Caliphate which had been deposed just after WW1. HAMAS is one of the Muslim Brotherhood’s military organizations, specifically established in 1988 to “liberate Palestine”, or in otherwords, remove the State of Israel. When one reads the HAMAS Charter it becomes crystal clear that they are not interested in a “two state solution”, especially as long as one of those is a Jewish State. (I have incuded some highlighting and notes on the charter document for your convenience.)
Article 13 of the HAMAS Charter does not mince words concerning their objective: “There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except Jihad. The initiatives, options, and international conferences are a waste of time and a kind of childs play.”

I was privileged to tour Israel with Tom Trento and Mark of The United West last year. Watch as Tom gives a great dissection of what is happening in Israel today. The video is about 20 minutes but at least watch the first 5 or 6 minutes to see what CAIR (HAMAS) is doing to agitate American society on this issue. H/T The United West

Laws of Nature…and Duck Commander

24 12 2013

Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty”, via MailOnline

Up until just a couple of weeks ago I had never seen an episode of  “Duck Dynasty”, the mega-hit cable channel A&E’s “reality” show.  Stands to reason, as we don’t have cable, or satellite TV.  It’s just something I can’t get good with; paying for television reception, subscribing to radio programming, and having a phone that can more than my desktop computer.  Ok, maybe my wife has a little influence on some of those things, but she’s a “pioneer woman” and makes “Miss Kay” look like a pampered city gal!  Yep, I could tell you some stories, but she reads this, so…yeah.

Anyway, some friends loaned us the first season of “Duck Dynasty” on dvd and we watched the entire season in about three settings.  Halfway through the 2nd episode my wife looks at me and says, “This could be you and the ‘Williams boys’!”  I smiled, picked up the remote and turned up the volume.  I must admit, she has a good point.

The reason myself and the “Williams boys” didn’t play sports in high school was it got in the way of hunting and fishing, and part-time jobs.  Someday I’ll write a book…

The boys and I were, admittedly, unchurched, irreligious heathen who would consider spending an hour in church on Sunday morning sacrilegious, or at least a poor time management decision.  A boy can shoot a lot of squirrels “still hunting” in one hour.  Little did I know, even with that attitude, I was getting an education in the finer points of theology.   There are endless applications in nature of theological truths.  Things like:

*If you need to drink out of the creek be sure it’s moving and follow it downstream for a ways to make sure no dead cows are layin’ in it!  (Ok, not advisable to normal humans.)

*A copperhead snake will chase you, especially if you’re screaming.  (So, I was 5 years old…Obviously, it made an impression!)

*Your dad may be throwing rocks in your direction and yelling “Shut up!”, but he’s not trying to stone you… He’s trying to stop the copperhead snake that is chasing you with intent to kill!

*Don’t let your coonhound swim after the racoon which is trying to lure him into the deep water, unless you’re willing to join him in the fight to save his stupid canine posterior.

*Hunting seasons are in place to advance the propagation of game animals, and are enforced by the state for the protection of species.  (Many laws of man are complimentary to the laws of nature.)

*Bucks like doe’s…and…doe’s like bucks.

I know, these are, for the most part, fairly obvious.  But there is a national debate which has gained a larger audience just in the last week or so, which wasn’t quite so obvious to many until the “Duck Commander”, Phil Robertson gave his honest answer to a question from a GQ Magazine reporter, who may, or may not have had an agenda.  Had we not just watched several episodes of the popular show, I may have just sat this one out.  However, I have watched the story unfold on a daily basis since it broke last week, and, having previously established a position on the subject that drew so much fire, I feel somewhat negligent if I fail to make a few comments, most of which I have published before.

As I perused the comments of many of the stories accusing Phil Robertson of “homophobia”, “hate”, “bigotry”, “racism”, “hate speech”, and other vile names which will not be printed here, I came across one particularly interesting story where a Methodist pastor was advocating for same-sex marriage.  Said preacher had recently been “defrocked” by his denomination when he married his “gay” son and his “significant other”.  I made a few respectful observations on various stories and was immediately the target of LGBT militants/advocates.   One story on a CNN blogsite asked the question, “Does Phil Robertson get the Bible Wrong?”.   You can read it but to save your time and keep you on my blogsite, I’ll just sum it up as a liberal reporter finds a couple of liberal’s with a seminary degree to do some “scholarly” gymnastics to say the Bible doesn’t really say what it says, particularly concerning homosexuality.   Somewhere amid the over 5K comments (so far) I made the statement to the effect of, “Do what you must to justify your behavior, this is the most acrobatically obtuse foray into Biblical exegesis I have ever witnessed…” and immediately was challenged that “Jesus never mentioned homosexuality”, and if I were a true Christian I would not make such “hypocritical” statements.

I have also been told by these “gentle spirits” and “true Christians” that the Old Testament passages (such as Lev. 19:22-23 forbidding men to lay with other men and inter-species copulation, e.i. bestiality) are null and void since Jesus cancelled out the Law.  I am assuming they also mean to say that murder is no longer forbidden, and you should be able to take whatever you want from your neighbor’s house, including his wife…eh?

[As a point of clarification, the New Testament begins at the ‘death of the Testator’, Christ, according to Hebrews and every estate judge in the land. Jesus walked the Earth in an Old Testament economy. Yeah, I know…it’ll take a minute to grasp that one!]

At any rate, these arguments are often used as “proof” that Jesus never condemned homosexuality and thus Christians, who refer to the Bible when opposing these types of moral issues, are just wrong.

Ok, a Biblical response:

Firstly, Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 5:17-18 that He did not come to destroy the Law and the Prophets (Old Testament) but to fulfill it. Then He goes on to say that until “heaven and earth pass” not even a punctuation mark will be changed in the Law till it is fulfilled. He further states that if you break one commandment you have broken them all (v.19 and James 2:10, [he was half-brother of Jesus]), and that not only the actual doing of the thing, but the very thought of the sin is enough to condemn you. “If you look upon a maid to lust after her, you have committed adultery in your heart already.”(Matt 5:21-28)

As a matter of fact, Jesus does speak against fornication (sexual intercourse outside of marriage) which includes not only homosexual activity, but also extra-marital heterosexual activity, pedophilia, incest, bestiality and so forth. While Jesus does not specifically name “homosexuality”, neither does he specifically name “incest, pedophilia, or bestiality”.

Does lack of specific mention codify or legitimize sexual intercourse with a minor child or animal, or even necrophilia (with the dead)? I would hope that you would agree that it doesn’t. I would allow that certain individuals may have a predisposed propensity for homosexual attraction, but so do pedophiles, and zoophiles. Alcoholics also have a predisposed propensity for their weakness. If these could not be controlled there would be no “sober” alcoholics, just as there would be no “former” homosexuals. Obviously there are many who have overcome these predispositions.

The question of sexuality is not even necessarily a simple “religious” question concerning morality but is as much a scientific or biological question and environment plays a huge role in development. What is the purpose of copulation in nature? In nature every species “mates,” only at specific times, for one purpose: Propagation of the species. Ours is the only species (except one) that is capable of spontaneous copulation, or “recreational” intercourse (for mutual pleasure), propagation of the species notwithstanding, and the only one who can look into the eyes of our mate while engaged. (The Bible says the “eyes are the window to the soul”; thus for humans, sex is a spiritual act of communion as well.)

Nonetheless, the baser “natural” lust of mankind, becomes tempered by morality; a philosophical if not religious attitude that contains our urges, lest we succumb to our “desires” in every public venue. So then, there are advantages to societal limitations (moral guidelines, if you will) on what behavior is ‘acceptable’ and where, especially when you consider public viewing of these activities, age of consent (pedophilia), interspecies copulation (bestiality) and so on. Everyone lives according to someone’s morality, even if they claim to be amoral. Society demands it.

Statistically speaking: After a quick check via Google, a United Nations website, unaids.org, netted some startling facts.  In North America, parts of Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe, 70% of all AIDS cases are transmitted by male on male intercourse.  (The remainder of cases are attributed mostly to injection drug use .)  As many as 56% of those (70%) are suspected of bisexual activity, which then calculates into 39 of 100 women engaging in intercourse with bisexual men can be exposed to HIV. The average life expectancy of a homosexual male is early 40’s. Not only does HIV/AIDS weigh in heavily but a myriad of other sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s) create health problems along with drug usage, which more often than not is a factor. It is a very destructive lifestyle and when Kinsey was doing his infamous sex studies, less than 1% of his homosexual men were 60+. A 2008 published study shows the overwhelming majority of deaths in homosexual men occur between ages of 25-45.

The logical conclusion to the matter is that open sexual activity which is harmful to society therefore is, and must be regulated; if not by law, then at least by some moral principle which has been established by that society in order to maintain a social order which will preserve and propagate the society.

The problem beginning to emerge here is not  that LGBT’s want to do what they do, but demanding that the rest of society embrace or condone it. I don’t care what you do in the privacy of your bedroom. I just don’t want government telling me I have to embrace it by providing you that bedroom to do it in,  condone your sexual behavior by being forced by a judge to make a cake for your gay wedding reception (in a state which doesn’t even recognize same-sex marriage), or photograph it by court order.

These court actions are in direct violation of the United States Constitution’s guarantee of “Freedom of Association” and the  right of “Free excercise of Religion“.   These rights are delineated hand in hand with our ‘Freedom of Speech” in the First Amendment because they are fundamental, and the Founders foresaw a time when Government would attempt to curb those rights necessary to maintain a free and moral society.  We are not far from the point that Christians will not be allowed to run for certain offices (violation of Article VI)  or hold some government positions.  Yes, Apartheid is coming to America; mark it down!

Yes Phil has it right, and he has the right to say it.  And if you study those 6 theological lessons I learned from the “Laws of Nature and Nature’s God”, you’ll find more Biblical truth than you might expect!

Hearkening back to “What would Jesus Do?” I can’t help but pose the thought that those practicing homosexuality and refuse the call of Jesus to “go and sin no more” are no different from those people who refuse to repent of any other sin, be it another “lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, or the pride of life”. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Experiencing God is not just for the afterlife; it is for this life. This is the “abundant life” that Jesus spoke of.

A person who refuses reconciliation with God either thinks himself too great, or God too small.

Sharia is not a Threat?

21 09 2013

When Kansas debated and passed American Laws for American/Kansas Courts in 2012, one of the arguments against it was “It’s a solution looking for a problem”.  The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) used the same mantra against the Missouri Legislature this year, which narrowly failed to over-ride Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of SB267 on Wednesday according to this article at Missouri Lawyers Weekly.  (H/T Creeping Sharia)

The Kansas City, Missouri attorney Ahsan Latif has hung out his shingle specializing in Sharia Law.  Little surprise here considering that just a few miles to the West at Kansas

KU Sharia Handbook

KU Sharia Overview Workshop Handbook

University Law School there are classes that teach Sharia to aspiring young law students.  The textbook reads like you would expect; revised history and a sanitized theological discussion, soothing the non-inquisitive mind and ignorant spirit that its just “freedom of religion” and no different than Jewish Halakhah or Catholic Canon.  Of course, the sanitized Sharia version leaves out all the gory stuff like dismemberment for thieves and pow’s, execution for apostates (o8.1; “When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed.”), homosexuals (p17.1 “Kill the one who sodomizes and the one who lets it be done to him.”), wine-bibbers (p14.2-1, “Scourge whoever drinks wine…if he drinks it a fourth time kill him.”) atheists (o9.0 “The Caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim.”), and anyone of the Jewish or Christian persuasion who does not “submit” to the rule of Islam.  Sharia also obliges the Muslim adherent, male or female, to circumcision (e4.3), and despite Muslim claims to the contrary, there is no age limit for marriage of girls.  A high percentage in the Islamic world are given (for dowry) in marriage by their fathers under the age of 16, many before puberty, such as the recent case in Yemen resulting in the death of the 8 yr old child.  This is not uncommon in Sharia controlled states. But the sanitized version will treat this as an outlier, a regional or custom related practice, when in reality under sharia, the family determines the age.

Touted as mainly for use by Muslims for “family matters”, the sanitized version also leaves out the fact that a woman’s testimony is worth half the value of a man’s and she rates behind any male heirs who get the first shares of the estate right after the mosque,  and a rape victim is generally to blame for her plight and she could be shamed, outcast or worse.  It is not uncommon for rape victims to be beaten or stoned for adultery, fornication, and/or “honor killed”, under sharia as discussed in this article by Hasan Mahmud.

The Sharia that is taught at KU and is shown to the general public also whitewashes Jihad as the “inner struggle”, ignoring the fact that this one line is cherry picked from 8 pages of directives concerning the Jihad (Holy War, o9.0) “to war against non-Muslims…signifying warfare to establish the religion (Islam)…” and presents Hadith’s like Bukhari quoting Muhammad as saying, “I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and perform the prayer, and pay zakat . If they say it, they have saved their blood and possession from me, except for the rights of Islam over them.”  The remaining headings under “Jihad” are titled: “The Obligatory Character of Jihad”,  “Who is Obliged to Fight in Jihad”, “The Objectives of Jihad” (“The caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians…[and] fights all other people until they become Muslim.”), “The Rules of Warfare”, “Truces”, “The Spoils of Battle”. This section on “Jihad” is immediately followed by, “Non-Muslim Subjects of the Islamic State (Dhimmi)”.  Now I ask you, does that sound like that very personal, struggle within ones own self to submit to Allah and maintain one’s faith?

One other important aspect to Sharia is that it codifies lying, or “deception”, in order to advance the cause of Islam (r8.2) and stay out of trouble with one’s wife!  Aside from the obvious advantage of keeping the wife deceived, “Taqiyya” (deception) is employed especially when Muslims are outnumbered, as a minority of a host society, in order to gain the trust and deceive the host, until a majority of Muslims can use politics, education, or force to overpower it.  Sound familiar yet?  Click here for more on Sharia.

[Shaira quotes and references from: “Reliance of the Traveller, A Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law”, by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri, translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller, accepted by Islamic Scholars around the world as the authoritative English translation]

You see, the objective of Islam is not to be equal, just as CAIR co-Founder Omar Ahmad stated, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.

Then there is the proposed “Blasphemy Law” that is being called for by Muslims around the world, which would make it a crime against humanity to criticize Islam.  Immediately after Barack Obama gave his infamous speech, declaring “The future does not belong to those who would slander the prophet” at the 2012 United Nations General Assembly, in the wake of the Benghazi terrorist attack (which he and Hillary Clinton blamed on an anti-Muhammad video), Muslims from around the world and closer to home made the hue and cry for freedom of speech to be made criminal.

Muslims encourage stifling of free speech

Muslims encourage stifling of free speech

The Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City posted a link to a petition on their website encouraging visitors to sign on, petitioning “The President of the United States: To sponsor a bill that outlaws any action that may insult one’s religion”.  (The petition got a whopping  351 signatures.)  While the President hasn’t actually sponsored legislation to curtail free speech, he has enacted policies within the many bureaucracies, including DHS and the DOJ, which are threatening American’s freedom of speech.  The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) immediately petitioned the UN to pass the same ordinance.

You can be sure this will not be slowing down anytime soon.  CAIR and cohorts are like sharks with blood in the water.  Once a breech is made, a flood will ensue.  In fact the flood gates are open and this breech will not be closed under this government. While “American Laws for American Courts” is good law and so far, effective as to it’s intent, it is only as good as our legal system which is becoming increasingly compromised.

American’s (non-Muslim that is) must learn why Islam is detrimental to all of Western Culture and the basic freedoms that we have enjoyed for so long.  Islam is indeed, “The Great Black Beast”, a cloud hanging over head that is going to become more oppressive unless we learn to reject it, and once again embrace the true God which has been the source of all that is good and just in our culture thus far.

If we do not, our children and grandchildren will never know what we lost.

In The Face of Terror: A Message for America

10 09 2013

In The Face of Terror: Ugandan Pastor Speaks to America

Umar Mulinde, once a Muslim, not only left Islam to embrace Jesus Christ, but became a Pastor.  The very act of “apostasy” from Islam is enough to earn the death penalty in many places ruled by the Shari’a (Islamic Holy Law), but proselytizing Muslims and becoming a Pastor adds insult to injury.  An additional curse from Islam upon Pastor Mulinde is that he supports Israel.

Umar was taught by Islam to hate Israel as a Muslim child, even before he knew where to find it on the map.  Today while American children watch Sesame Street, Palestinian children watch programming teaching them to declare jihad on the Jews, reciting messages of hate in poetry.  Umar’s message to Israel, “Don’t sell your land for Peace!” His message to America, “Stand up before it’s [too] late!”

In February of 2012 a team from The United West was in Israel and interviewed Pastor Umar Mulinde at the Sheba Hospital in Tel Aviv.  This video is a portion of that interview.  H/T  Tom and Mark

Wichita Elementary School Greets Students with the 5 Pillars of Islam

19 08 2013

When the Wichita Kansas mother and her husband enrolled their son in the neighborhood charter school, religious instruction was the last thing under their consideration.  In fact, had they known the Minneha Elementary School ( a public magnet school) used a curriculum that incorporated the open and direct use of Eastern religious writings, and Islamic core tenets, they may well have chosen a different school altogether.

It wasn’t until the boy came home from school in with worksheets in his backpack that the parents were aware that in 1st grade he had been instructed that there were three major world religions: Catholicism, Judaism, and Islam. In 2nd grade, the class was introduced to Eastern religions in a two week segment of the social studies class which, during the week of Hindu, the teacher read daily passages from a Hindu prayer book and followed with a week of reading Buddhist meditations.

Remember, we are talking 2nd Grade here, not a high-school Literature or Cultural Studies class!

This year the child began 3rd grade.  (He and his family are Jewish and he understands that Islamic groups worldwide have declared Jews, among others, as targets of scorn and violence.)  The religious display greeted him and his mother like a slap in the face as “The 5 Pillars of Islam” bulletin board welcomed the elementary students into the new school year, and apparently, the next level of social and cultural engineering (which has plagued public education for a while now), Islamic instruction.

Minneha Elementary School, Wichita, KS, 2013

Minneha Elementary School, Wichita, KS, 2013

It’s happening all over the United States.  School textbooks, particularly those published by Pearson Education, Inc. under the name Pearson Prentice Hall, are rife with Islamic friendly references.  One such History textbook, used by a Florida school district for three years now, contains a 36 page chapter dedicated to Islam, while no chapters at all were dedicated to Judaism, or Christianity, both of which are arguably the bedrock of Western civilization.  According to the Florida Rep. Rich Workman, the “Muslim Civilizations” chapter was confirmed to him by the publisher, to be written by an Islamic Cleric. One reference to the Muslim takeover of Medina says the people there received Muhammad with gladness and “happily accepted Islam as their way of life”.  No mention of the thousands of Jews and non-believers that were dispossessed, exiled and slaughtered in the process.

Another book by Prentice Hall, Medieval Times to Today in their “World Explorer” series, explains that “some” Christian pilgrims “were attacked and murdered” (prior to the 1st Crusade of 1095) by the Muslim Turks at Jerusalem, “even though Islamic teaching states that Jews and Christians are fellow believers in God.” (p. 118)

That statement is a half -truth, and therefore a lie.  While some earlier passages in Koran do make friendly to Jews, they are never considered “fellow believers” (which insinuates equality), and those passages are abrogated by the latter, and even final word in Sura’s 5 and 9 on the matter which state that Christians are “Unbelievers” and polytheists, because they believe in the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), (Sura 5:73) and that Muslims are to have no part of polytheism or those who practice it, furthermore are to fight against them, and the only Christians or Jews who were allowed to exist were those who submitted (definition of Islam) to Muslim rule and agreed to acquiesce to Islamic Law (Sharia), which posited them as much less than equal “fellow believers”.  Similarly, Sura 5:56-57 warns Muslims not to seek the friendship of “People of the Book” (Jews), also called “infidels” here, who rejected Muhammad’s religion, saying that Allah “has cursed” them.  These are the conditions by which Christians and Jews are permitted to retain their “religion”, living as “dhimmi” under Islamic governance.

The Minneha School policy states, “Since religion is a shaping force in the story of civilization, the Core Knowledge sequence introduces children in the early grades to major world religions, beginning with a focus on geography and major symbols and figures.”  Core Knowledge sequence uses several publishing houses, but as a note of interest, K-6 history and geography materials are published by Pearson.  (At this time, we have not been able to confirm any content of these specific textbooks, at the Wichita school.)

The major objections with this situation are threefold.

First, the display of “The 5 Pillars of Islam” is presenting a theological foray into the basic tenets of a religion.  The schools policy further states, The purpose is not to explore the matters of theology but to understand the place of religion and religious ideas in history.”

For the record the 5 Pillars of Islam are as follows:

  1. Shahada – This is the verbal confession made when one becomes a Muslim and commits to obey the laws of Islam.  “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah
  2. Salat – The 5 daily prayers, each with a name and time for performance following ceremonial washing.
  3. Ramadan – The Fast during the month of Ramadan celebrating the initial verses of Koran given to Muhammad, and a time of introspection, and celebratory meals.
  4. Zakat – Alms giving.
  5. Hajj – The pilgrimage required by every Muslim if able, at least once in their lifetime. Many ceremonial religious exercises performed in Mecca.

[Some schools of Islam add a 6th Pillar which is Jihad – Holy War to advance Islam. Whether included as a fundamental pillar of the faith or not, Jihad is none-the-less an obligatory element to Islamic doctrine.]

Keep in mind this is not a display about the height of Islamic culture during the Fatimid Dynasty, or the great libraries kept at Cordoba by the most liberal Caliph in Islamic history, Al Hakam II.

One cannot expect a display touting “The 5 Pillars of Islam” to go unexplained to the students who view it.  Any instruction to follow, delving into these are getting into theology, and therefore a violation of the schools own policy.  Be that as it may, the only justifiable “balance” that could be attained is for the school to introduce lessons on Baptism and the Sacraments, as these are held by many mainstream Christian denominations to be the “way of salvation” just as the recitation of the Shahada, a purely theological exercise. [**Addendum Update**: Perhaps even more to this point, discussion of the “Apostle’s Creed”.]

Secondly, as already touched on briefly, these are elementary aged students, not junior high or even high schoolers, who are more equipped to have an objective approach to such sensitive subject matter.

Thirdly, this is a public school, not a private school. It does receive public funding.  Most of us are of the understanding that some courts and most public schools have decided that any intrusion of any type of religious activity or instruction is a violation of the establishment clause in the Constitution.  Indeed…

As a point of balance, we are informed, there is a picture of “The Last Supper” on an adjacent wall to this display.

Whether the “Last Supper” or Michelangelo’s statue of David, a classic piece of artwork, unless used in a larger theological discussion, is not necessarily of a religious inference, and even if a student did inquire about the individuals in the picture, a satisfactory explanation can be historical and even cultural in nature without even broaching a theological point.

Does the school intend to post the 10 Commandments, depict Baptism and the Eucharist, and compare the 3 core values of Judaism:  Torah (Learning), Avodah (service), and Gilmut Chasidim, (human interaction)? If the school gives equal time to these then there is equity.  Anything less is prejudice.

The 5 Pillars are theological religious instruction and must come down.

***UPDATED***

The School has taken the display down “until the unit is taught later this fall”.

What Attracts Liberals to Islam?

23 07 2013

It was one of those “Eureka!” moments as I read an article about Ramadan and the United States Department of Defense holding an Iftar celebration, at the Pentagon no less.

Yes, the very Pentagon that was attacked on 9-11-01 from the outside is now hosting the very ideology which killed 189 people on the same site.  (I did a quick search to see how many Easter or Christmas dinners are held at the Pentagon.  My query netted “zero”, but if anyone knows of such, please inform me. I won’t be surprised if there was a projected Ramadan message on the outer wall of the Pentagon like this one lighting up the wall of a Virginia church. Dhimmi’s.)

This is incredulous in itself, not to mention the huge influx of new mosques being built across the country, and the ever increasing influence of Islam in our educational, finance, and legal institutions.  The number of mosques in the US is up 79% since 2000, to over 2,100 not counting Nation of Islam mosques (true Islam does not recognize NOI) and according to USA Today there are now nearly 7 million Muslims in the United States-vast majority of those, immigrants.  The Pentagon official in that article boasted that 30-40 of Pentagon DoD personnel are Muslim.  Check Mate.

The Leftists in America are smiling.

And this,… this is what has been so elusive for many of us for 12 years! What is the common attraction for the American Left (Liberals, Progressives, Marxists, Communists, Socialist, etc.) to Islam?  It seems that this highly oppressive and restrictive ideology which unites government and religion, oppresses women around the world, still harbors the institution of slavery, stones or canes women for adultery (and even prosecutes female victims of rape), hangs homosexuals, and abhors freedom of speech, and instigates wars around the world, would be the last ideology that would be embraced by the pluralistic, multicultural,  homosexuality propagating, anti-religious, feminist, war-protesting, free sex hook-up,  tolerance preaching, American Left!

So what is the attraction?!  I have it! In one word! Poverty…

Huh?  What is so attractive about poverty and what is the connection to Islam?

Ok, so that’s a straw man question, but you wanted to know anyway.  Last part first.

Think about it…When has an Islamic state ever been a prosperous economic force aside from petroleum, which was developed by the West.  Without Western petroleum interests the Middle East would still be shipping spices by camel caravan and killing the neighboring tribe.  (Well…they’re not still dependent on camels.)  Even during the “Golden Age” of Islam (700-1100 AD) it’s economy was based on its conquests; jizya taxes, plunder, slave trade, etc. . It actually produced very little wealth, only redistributed it.  Islam begets poverty.

Islam is a non-productive ideology.  Similar to Communism, there is little incentive to produce and excel, so the gap between the “haves and the have nots” widen and the middle-class disappears while the ruling elite prosper.  The reason that Islam is non-productive is because death is such a central point of the theology, and life is about getting there.

There is a creed that surfaces occasionally when studying the Islamic culture which is so shaped by the obligatory act of jihad: “We love death more than you love life.” It has been a part of Islam since its earliest doctrines were formulated during that period immediately following Muhammad’s death in 632 (AD).  I have said it before, and I’ll say it again. Islam is a great black beast of which the Muslim is the first victim.  Sharia, the legal system of Islam, squelches creativity and incentive for capital gain, punishing those who question the authority of the Koran, even to the point of executing the apostate (who turns away from Islam). Life is despised and the highest honor is to die in the service of Allah, taking the lives of Allah’s enemies.  Palestinian children are routinely indoctrinated to pursue death for honor.  Muhammad spawned the largest death cult in the world.

On the other hand, the Judeo-Christian ethos, which is rooted in the Hebrew Torah wherein Jehovah calls to Israel (Deuteronomy 30:19), “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live“, holding fast to the Lord God, who is Life.

Golda Meir, 4th Israeli Prime Minister from 1969-1974 summed up the contrasting ideologies when she said, “We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.”

So there you have the connection of poverty to Islam. Poverty is a manifestation of a spiritual condition.  No, poverty is not singular to Islamic nations. Poverty is found around the world.  But what is poverty but the result of displacing God?  Don’t confuse “the poor” with poverty. Poverty denotes hopelessness.  There are many poor who are not hopeless. Jesus Himself said there will always be poor people among us.  But hopelessness is the result of an individual, society, community spurning God (Jehovah, not Allah), and choosing to go their own way, which the Bible says “leads to death”.  Thus, the Biblical admonition to choose God, and “choose life”.

So then, addressing the attraction of poverty.  It’s very simple…  Control.

When a society is stricken with poverty, it is very easy to control.  Hopelessness begets desperation.  A desperate population will do whatever is necessary in order to obtain sustenance and order, even if that means giving up freedom. When a government, any government, Islamic or otherwise, sets itself at odds with Biblical admonitions, poverty will follow. Government debt spikes out of control and chaos follows.  Recently Spain and Greece were both prime examples of this in Europe, and one needs look no further than Detroit City to examine the effects here at home.

This is where the US Government is headed and there is no turning back.  Every month the Fed prints another $85 Billion in order to maintain status quo, while pumping our debt to nearly $17 Trillion.  It is expected to reach $20T by the end of 2013. I’m not an economist, but anyone can see the folly in the continuation of this lunacy.  The point right now is obviously to keep the stock market inflated in order to deceive the masses long enough to procure enough support of the population by getting as many as possible voluntarily dependent on the government for basic necessities and standard of living, before the bubble bursts.  Currently, almost half (48.5%) of Americans are receiving some form of government benefit while 46.4% will pay no federal income tax this year.  As Abraham Lincoln said, “There’s too many pigs for the tits!”

Left wing ideologies propagate this kind of economic disaster, just as sure as water runs downhill.  It’s a natural phenomena.  Margaret Thatcher, UK’s Prime Minister during the ’80’s quipped, “The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money.”  Someone has to be able to produce something in order to maintain government voluntarily, else the government will take what it needs from someone, it’s enemies or it’s own citizens.  World history proves it over and over.

Biblical principals lead to sound government just as they do to prosperous citizenry; live within your means, be diligent at the task and long at the labor, be a good steward of your resources as well as your gains, live within the law, and voluntary benevolence.

But these principals lead to independent citizens. That does not fit within the parameters of an authoritarian mindset.

There is much Power in the Poverty business.

Barack Obama: Foreign Policy Disaster

1 07 2013

Just a short two years after President Obama stepped into Egypt’s political theater supporting the ousting of Hosni Mubarak, his choice for President of Egypt is now being asked to leave.

Exactly a year ago the President called the Muslim Brotherhood’s candidate, Muhammed Morsi, to congratulate him on his win in the election replacing former President Mubarak.  Mubarak was no friend to the Muslim Brotherhood, same as his predecessors dating back to Nassar who actually had Brotherhood members arrested, executed, or run out of Egypt after their failed attempt to assassinate him.  Anwar Sadat was not so lucky, being killed by Brotherhood members within his own army in 1981.

Yesterday, June 30, estimated “millions” of Egyptians flooded the streets of Cairo and other cities to tell Morsi to “Get Out”.  This follows a year of increasing Islamist governmental oppression foisting Sharia Law upon the citizens of Egypt and failure to improve economic conditions, and persecution of those who speak out against Islamism including the Coptic Christians, secularists, and “moderate” Muslims alike.  At the time of this writing there were 7 dead, 253 injured in Sunday’s rallies, and protesters had set the MB Headquarters afire, while President Obama has steadily increased Brotherhood access to American Government agencies since his own election in 2008.

Obama, along with most of the Western media dhimmi’s, where touting the “Arab Spring” of 2011 as the new era of freedom, giving both moral support and/or military aid to the

likes of Islamist MB groups in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Yemen, Bahrain, etc.  Egypt is perhaps the most strategic nation due to proximity to Israel and the Suez Canal, and has, since Anwar Sadat, been an ally to the US.  The people of Egypt may be rethinking that association now in light of the fact that Barack Obama has become the first American President in history to support an Islamist government regime for Egypt.

The now laughable “Red Line” threat to Syria and ensuing policy there has led to further erosion of American standing in the Middle East.  Now the US Government (including Dem/Rep Congress) is on record as supporting and arming Islamist radicals who butcher their foes like pigs and eat their organs raw, and beheading others including a Catholic Priest.  Not sure how we got to the point that the Russian President Vladimer Putin is questioning the American choice to support such barbarism, giving our arch-rival the high moral ground on the global stage.  I do not advocate supporting Assad but since we waited so long to see where the Muslim Brotherhood was going to be on Syria, can’t we just stay the hell out of one of these?  Israel can take care of itself, and would probably feel much more secure with out this Administration constantly creating “situations” for them.  We already have a thousand Marines in Northern Jordan as “advisers” and Obama just recently deployed 400 US Army troops to Egypt, trained in “riot control”.  The US has an additional 400 troops in Turkey manning Patriot missile batteries along the Syrian border.

Just a few days ago Turkey’s PM Erdogen pulled the rug out from under the Obama plan to channel weapons through Turkey to the Syrian rebels by shutting that corridor down.  Erdogen told Obama he was afraid of retribution from the Russians if he continued to allow aid to the Syrian Rebels.  From DEBKAfile:

“Until now, the Erdogan government was fully supportive of the Syrian opposition, permitting them to establish vital command centers and rear bases on Turkish soil and send supplies across the border to fighting units. He has now pulled the rug out from under their cause and given Assad a major leg-up

This about-turn is a strategic earthquake – not just in terms of the Syrian war but also for the United States and, as time goes by, for Israel too.”

Iraq has devolved into Shia vs. Sunni sectarian violence since US withdrawal, leaving its government questionable.  We will be completely withdrawn from Afghanistan by the end of next year, currently holding “talks” with Taliban leaders there.  Are we that naive to believe the Taliban will simply put their AK’s down and leave the villagers to go back to growing poppies?  (Sometimes I think the reason we invaded Afghanistan was to get the product from those poppies and distribute it to Washington.  They sure act like they’re stoned out of their gourds up there!) Saudi Arabia now has free access to any airport in the US; Unlimited flights with DHS deferring to the Saudi government to screen those travelers to the US.

Today, since the “Arab Spring” began, the Muslim Brotherhood has gained control of much of North Africa, bringing their chartered goal of the “Khalifa” (Islamic Caliphate) much closer to fruition.  MB continues its efforts in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria, working toward the caliphate.  Turkey’s Islamist AKP (Justice and Development Party) Government wants the Caliphate, which until 1922 had been held by the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) for 500 years.  The Saudi’s want the Caliphate, which according to Sharia Law is the common directive to every Muslim.  The Saudi King, after all, is charged with advancing the Islamic religion to the world. He is the keeper of the faith and protector of the Kaaba, in Mecca, the most holy site in Islam.  The Saudi Flag bears the “Shahada” declaration of faith, “There is but one god Allah, and Muhammad is his Prophet” along with the sword of Islam.

For all practical purposes, it would appear that the US President also wants the caliphate.  Vladimer Putin, however, does not want the caliphate.  He understands that a unified Islamic Caliphate will command the petroleum reserves of the entire Middle East, not to mention strategic and commerce lanes.  He also understands that Syria is the keystone in forming that confederacy.  And don’t forget Iran!

Will the Syrian civil war ultimately lead to Russia becoming militarily engaged bringing Iran and Turkey against Israel, at the end of the day?

This chessboard is looking more like Ezekiel 38 every day.  Is this American President helping to bring it?

His policies are setting the Middle East on fire.

Department of Justice: Insulting Islam may be Federal offense

3 06 2013

One day soon I may be a criminal for simply exercising my First Amendment right of freedom of speech and of the press.  My crime? …Criticism of Islam.

According to the Obama Administration’s Department of Justice, it may soon be a federal offense to point out the Theological incongruity, the Sociological paradox, and the Political hostility that Islam poses to the freedoms guaranteed by the founding documents of the United States of America.

Bill Killian has been the US Attorney for the Eastern District Court, Tennessee since October, 2010.  Mr. Killian will speak on June 4 at an event sponsored by the American Muslim Advisory Council of Tennessee, apparently assuring them that:

“…federal civil rights laws can actually be violated by those who post inflammatory documents aimed at Muslims on social media. “This is an educational effort with civil rights laws as they play into freedom of religion and exercising freedom of religion,” Killian says in the local news story. “This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are.”

The DOJ political appointee adds in the article that the upcoming presentation will also focus on Muslim culture with a special emphasis on the fact that the religion is no different from others, even though some in the faith have committed terrorist acts…”  via JudicialWatch.org

This move is by no means the first by the Obama DOJ to establish a protective status for an ideology hostile to, not only American society, but the US Constitution itself.  In 2010, Attorney General Eric Holder told the “Muslim Advocates”, an organization that encourages its members to not cooperate in federal terrorism investigations, that he was grateful for their partnership.

Then he touted his agency’s many efforts to strengthen the government’s relationship with Muslim and Arab-American communities, including a reinvigorated commitment to civil rights that prioritizes the prosecution of violence motivated by “religious intolerance.” The Justice Department has investigated hundreds of hate crimes against Muslims, filed a legal motion supporting a controversial Tennessee mosque and numerous discrimination lawsuits on behalf of Muslims nationwide, Holder bragged.  –  via JudicialWatch.org

I wonder, Mr. Attorney General, how many hundreds of hate crimes against Jews or Christians have you investigated, and how many discrimination lawsuits have you filed on behalf of Christians or Jews?

It is enough that the President’s new NASA Administrator told Al Jazeera TV that Mr. Obama wanted him to reach out the Muslim world, and then that the Internal Revenue Service was, whether by direct White House order, or “dog whistle” encouragement, targeting Obama’s political enemies by audit,  or simply stonewalling conservative non-profit applications  while Muslim non-profits endured much less scrutiny, but the fact of the matter is that the United States Department of Justice is now actively advocating for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) now UN passed Resolution 16/18 which prohibits speech critical to Islam, written, spoken, or in art form.

It all figures in to the equation though.  Last week President Barack Obama declared the “war on terrorism” over, and according to the new CIA Director and Muslim convert John Brennan, the vernacular has changed, eliminating the terminology, “war on terror”, “Jihadists”, and “global war”, opting only to confirm that America is at war with Al-Qaeda, and did not want to risk the implication that “the United States is at war with Islam itself”.

Somebody tell that to Islam.

I have argued the President Obama is not a Muslim ever since he became president. This in spite of his “misspoken” statement about “my Muslim faith” in the George Stephanopolis interview,  bowing to the Saudi King, his statements at Cairo, the “Shahada Ring” that he wears as his wedding band, and mounting pro-Islamic domestic and foreign policies.  I even wrote a post declaring “Obama is not a Muslim”.  However, in light of his latest “foux pas” lamenting the loss of his youthful appearance of when he “was a strapping young Muslim Socialist”, and the use of Cabinet level government officials to make sure “The Future does not belong to those who would slander the Prophet”, I must say I cannot maintain that argument.

I wonder what America’s “re-training” Gulags will look like?  Somehow I suspect I will see one from the inside, perhaps sooner than later.  Especially when I make statements like this:

Islam is the religion of Satan and Muhammad is a false prophet.  Muslims are victimized daily by this scourge of wickedness and their only hope is Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God,  just like the rest of us!

You know where to find me.

Death of a Nation

Polarization

The United States  has, since it’s inception of a common government, hosted political views that weren’t always in unison.  The Founders were seldom in agreement about how and what type of government to establish, and the very fact that it took 6 years to ratify a Constitution following the 8 year War of Independence, is testimony to the process and debate between men who were independent thinkers.  While the Founders may have been polarized politically at times, they were mostly if not nearly unanimously in agreement that Mankind was beholden, and responsible, to a Creator God for his actions in this life.  They also understood the gravity of their moment in the history of Mankind and what it would mean to posterity.  They fully comprehended, as John Jay said, “The Americans are the first people whom Heaven has favored with an opportunity of deliberating upon and choosing the forms of government under which they should live.”

Noah Webster wrote, “When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, just men who will rule in the fear of God. The preservation of government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.”  [Noah Webster, History of the United States (New Haven: Durrie & Peck, 1832), pp. 336-337, 49.] (http://www.wallbuilders.com/libissuesarticles.asp?id=80)

This was the regulating factor alleviating the political polarization of early America.  This concept is readily availed within the opening and closing paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence and in the numerous documents and letters forged by those that we call “The Founders“.

How to kill a Giant…

The United States of America has, without question, been the single most powerful Nation the world has ever seen.  No military force ever fielded could have successfully invaded and taken this country by armed conquest.  No philosophy or ideology conceived or contrived has been able to break this Union of States or the American Spirit, which has bound her people with one resolve.  The ability of her people to assimilate into the great American “melting pot”, each culture of origin of her immigrants brought a flavor of their homeland which served to enhance, but not overpower, the uniqueness of what the entire world has aspired to, and what we have known simply as “America”.

America is not an empire; the concept is not temporal but spiritual; its very essence of greatness has been borne by an idea which has become but a whisper for fear of it vanishing.  No nation, kingdom, or empire ever ascended to such heights of glory and power as the United States of America, and yet afforded or preserved her citizens such individual rights and liberties.  This is the beauty and singular ideal that has separated America from all other countries and empires and kingdoms of the world; yes even for all of human history!

Until now.

…Divide and Conquer

What has become of America? How have we become such a balkanized, polarized, divided population?  We are not even an “American people” any longer.  The great melting pot of assimilation has become a TV dinner, cold and segregated lest any segment of our society actually merge with another.  The push for “Multi-Culturalism” and “Pluralism” have resulted in the exact opposite of the promised outcome.  We are more racially divided, our immigrants do not seek to assimilate into American language or culture and pretty much demand that we allow them to retain a separate community, culture and language, and if we ask them to come join us we are labeled as racist, xenophobic, hateful bigots.

There was a time, in fact up until recently, that immigrants to this country raised their children here to assimilate into American Society, insisting they learn the language and culture, and become American.  I personally know one such family who came here from Southeast Asia, narrowly escaping the Communist “cleansing” (genocide), which swept unbridled through the region post US/Vietnamese involvement, with the shirts on their backs and lost many family members on the way out.   These friends speak their language of origin in the home and as far as I know stick to a traditional diet in the home. (It is awesome Asian food!) I once asked the father why the elders of the family have Lao names and all the children have American names.  His answer was profound. “We were born in Laos. We have Lao names. Our children were born in America; they are Americans. They have American names.”  (Not once did he utter “Asian-American”.)  The children, all equally bilingual, are productive and vivacious young citizens who are happy to be Americans, cognizant of the American ideal, fully assimilated, yet retain a uniquely Laotian influence, while working hard to provide for themselves.  My friends do not demand that they be given special recognition, special rights, or that the rest of America make provision for them.

Modern America is the only nation in the world that acquiesces to, and encourages such nonsense, and our governmental policies ensure that these divisions are kept in place and those lines of separation remain clear. Why?

The answer is very simple: a divided people are much easier to control than a united one.  It’s classic Saul Alinskey- Create a state of chaos by overloading the system.  Use the politics of personal destruction to embarrass your enemy and exploit their own human faults.

If politicians can keep us labeled as “African-Americans, Native Americans, Mexican-Americans, Asian-American, and now even sexual preference merits the designation “Gay-Americans”.  (I remember when just about everyone I knew were “gay” because we were happy about most things in life.) Now I am hearing the term “Muslim-American” so now we can be further divided by our religion.  I have noticed, however, that when the media, or politicians, use these pandering terms it is never to integrate any people group with another, but to differentiate between people groups.  This type of labeling does nothing to unite or integrate society, but has a divisive connotation and serves to further fracture our society.  It is no accident.

I have no problem with people celebrating their heritage; I like to experience “cultural diversity” as well as the next person.  But while all people are created equal, and should be treated as equal, not all ideas are. This is why “Pluralism” is a failure.

Pluralism assumes that all religions are equal and that each is as valuable as the next.  The fact is, all religions, ideologies, cultures, and political systems are not equal.  Such equity would naturally require “Moral Relativism”. Moral Relativism which does not contrast by judgement of good and evil, also doesn’t differentiate between Adolph Hitler and Mother Theresa.   Definitively, (if that is “morally relatively” possible!) there is no absolute truth, no right or wrong, and we should all tolerate, if not embrace, any behavior of others no matter how destructive, even when we find it objectionable or wrong.  Oh, wait…hmm…sounds familiar doesn’t it?

The Last Great Virtue

“Tolerance” and apathy have been called “the last great virtues of a dying society”(Aristotle).  By tolerating evil whether it be in the form of “religion”, ideology, or culture, America has allowed it’s greatest legitimate virtue of a free and open society, to become the very avenue by which the enemy has gained access.  The cancers of tolerance and apathy have metastasized.

The very laws of nature demand and demonstrate truth.  An acorn always becomes an oak tree; it can’t decide it is going to be different than all the other acorns, and grow into a maple tree.  A stalk of wheat cannot bear a head of rice.  A kangaroo cannot eat a dingo, and a dingo cannot nest in a tree.  A bird cannot breathe water, and water always seeks its own level.  Failure of a wildebeest to exercise caution at the watering hole can result in being eaten by crocodile or lion.  Such are the laws of nature, set in place by nature’s God.

The Laws of Nature and Nature’s God have been a template for mankind since the beginning.  Unyielding and absolute truth tempered by the merciful character of God as set forth in the Bible, set the parameters for a civil and just human government, and when these boundaries are breached, chaos follows.  Thomas Jefferson referred to this template in The Declaration of Independence, and men like John Locke and William Blackstone, both scholars in law and Scripture, influenced the thinking of America’s founders, so much so, that the type of government created was so unique that it has been referred to as “The American Experiment” for nigh onto 250 years now.

This experiment commands the vigilance of an attentive people, so that “government of the People, by the People, and for the People, shall not perish from the Earth”.  That was the nature of the experiment, and a failure by the People to attend to those requirements has resulted in what seems to be impending doom.  When Benjamin Franklin was asked by a citizen just after the Constitution was ratified, “Well Doctor, what have we got; a Republic or a Monarchy?”  “A Republic,” answered Franklin, “If you can keep it.”

George Washington said, “Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness.”  He also warned against government expansion, “Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force.  Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.” Or in more contemporary language, “government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take everything you have.”

We seem to have lost our Republic, Mr. Franklin.

Messages From the Founders: American Forefathers Speak to Us

9 07 2012

“Posterity, You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.” – John Quincy Adams

“What we obtain too cheaply, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a price upon its goods, and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated.” – Thomas Payne

“For the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of the Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.” – Declaration of Independence

“Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of The Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian…This is a religious people. This is historically true. From the discovery of this continent to the present hour, there is a single voice making this affirmation…we find everywhere a clear recognition of the same truth…These, and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation.” – Supreme Court Decision, 1892, Church of the Holy Trinity V. United States

“My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!”  – Thomas Jefferson

Ben Franklin via Wikipedia

In the summer 1787, representatives met in Philadelphia to write the Constitution of the United States. After they had struggled for several weeks and had made little or no progress, 81 year old Benjamin Franklin rose and addressed the troubled and disagreeing convention that was about to adjourn in confusion:

“In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending Providence in our favor…Have we now forgotten this powerful Friend? Or do we imagine we no longer need His assistance?”

“I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: that God governs in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice,m is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this…I therefore beg leave to move that, henceforth, prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven and its blessing on our deliberation be held in this assembly every morning.” – Benjamin Franklin

“All the good from the Saviour of the world is communicated through this Book; but for the Book we could not know right from wrong. All the things desirable to man are contained in it.” – Abraham Lincoln

Although hardly a Founder, President Calvin Coolidge could nearly qualify as a prophet with this quote: “The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country.”

“Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever.” – Thomas Jefferson
Excerpted from Harvard University’s “Rules and Precepts” adopted 1646:

“Everyone shall consider the main end of his life and studies to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life. Seeing the lord giveth wisdom, every one shall seriously by prayer in secret seek wisdom of Him.  Every one shall so exercise himself in reading the Scriptures twice a day that they be ready to give an account of their proficiency therein, both in theoretical observations of languages and logic, and in practical and spiritual truths…”

O thus be it ever when free men shall stand, between their loved homes and the war’s desolation; Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the heav’n rescued land praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just; and this be our motto “In God is our trust!” – Francis Scott Key, 2nd Verse of the “Star Spangled Banner”

“The religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His apostles…to this we owe our free constitutions of government.” – Noah Webster

“Can the liberties of a nation be secure, when we have removed the conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?” – Thomas Jefferson

Wafa Sultan, Ex-Muslima debates Sheik Omar Bakri Muhammad

21 05 2012

The Sheik unequivocally defines Sharia Law and the Islamic world view.  He does not hesitate to point out the relationship between Dar al-Islam (House of Islam) and Dar al-Harb (House of War or non-Muslim lands),  “The relationship between us is either a pact of belief in Allah, or a peace treaty, or war.”  He goes on to define that peace treaty as a Dhimmi pact, where non-Muslims do not have equal rights with Muslims, because Allah has given the Muslim more rights and greater respect than the Khaffir (Non-Muslim).  Educated in Quran and Sharia since age of 5, Sheik Omar Bakri Muhammad holds several degrees from Islamic Universities in Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) and is certainly an Islamic scholar by anyone’s standard.

Wafa Sultan, a medical doctor, who studied University of Alleppo, Syria, rejected her native religion of Islam when Muslim Brotherhood assassins riddled her professor with bullets in front of her.  A secularist, she now is a leading critic of Islam and was listed by Time magazine among the worlds 100 most influential people in 2006.  She has been quoted as saying, “The trouble with Islam is deeply rooted in its teachings.”   Watch this 8 minute video and understand the Islamic world view.

Fundamentals

1 07 2010

There is an old parable which goes something like this: “For want of a clench, a nail was lost. For want of a nail, a shoe was lost. For want of a shoe, a horse was lost. For want of a horse, a knight was lost. For want of a knight a battle was lost. For want of a battle, a kingdom was lost.” Well, something like that.

Words are like nails. The definition of a word determines the tightness of the clench. I’m into definitions. I suppose that is obvious from the name of this blogsite. The reason I’m into definitions is, to quote a famous radio personality, “Words mean things”. Words define sentences, which define subjects, which define ideas. Communication, even sign language, is reliant upon words to inflect meaning and definition of language expressing emotion, thoughts, intents, and ideas.

One word which particularly interests me these days is “fundamental“. The commonly used internet dictionary Merriam-Webster defines “fundamental” as follows: 1-a: serving as an original or generating source; [primary] b: serving as a basis supporting existence or determining essential structure or function; [basic] 2-a: of or relating to essential structure, function, or facts; [radical also: of or dealing with general principles rather than practical application ] b: adhering to fundamentalism 3: of, relating to, or produced by the lowest component of a complex vibration 4: of central importance: [principal ] 5: belonging to one’s innate or ingrained characteristics: [deep-rooted] (note: some punctuation/symbols edited for clarity in this format)

Fundamental is a word used to express definitive structure or skeletal origin and principles concerning architecture, music, athletics, sociology, politics, religion, government, virtually everything tangible and intangible. Everything has a fundamental nature, cause, precept, function, ideology, value, means, or purpose. Even this article has a fundamental purpose.

That purpose specifically is to discuss the fundamentals of religion, and perhaps briefly, our government. Now, if you have read my page “God Hates Religion” you probably already know where I stand on the definition of religion. But for the sake of this discussion, I am going to refer to religion in the general sense and explore two of those: Islam and Christianity.

The fundamentals of a religion define it. As with a building, the foundation determines the size, shape, weight and height of a building. That is source of its existence. It’s “founding”. The fundamentals of a government are revealed in it’s founding documents. The founding documents of our American Government are the Mayflower Compact, The Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and The Constitution of the United States. Further insight can be gained by studying the people who wrote those documents: “The Founders”. These define American government and give insight to America’s purpose as a nation. (Incidentally, I think I remember candidate Obama saying he wanted to “fundamentally change America”. Wonder what he meant by that?)

Likewise, in order to get to the fundamentals of a religion you must explore the founding documents and those key figures of it’s early existence. Those who adhere to the fundamentals of their religion are known as “fundamentalists”.

Fundamentalist Christians take the Bible as the Word of God. They also trust in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, as the Christ, the Son of the Living God as recorded in the pages of the Bible; Prophesied over 300 times in the Old Testament, and the central figure of the New Testament. They believe that He was born of a virgin, crucified on a Roman cross, suffered for the sins of all mankind, died, was buried and then was resurrected from the dead. The New Testament places Him present on Earth for 40 days after the resurrection and records Him to be seen by a minimum of over 500 people. He then ascended into Heaven and will return at the conclusion of this present age of Grace. These are the fundamentals of the Christian faith, which of course are dependent upon the Bible as its founding documentation.

Examining the Bible as a founding document, we find a collection of documents actually, from the Law of Moses, to the Psalms, to the Prophets and including the Gospels and the letters right up to the prophecy of The Revelation. These documents written over a period of 1500 years, given by revelation through the Holy Spirit to 40 men over that span of time, all fit together, none contradicting another.

Islamic Fundamentalists likewise take the Koran as the word of Allah as dictated to Muhammad by the angel Jibril (Gabriel to you Bible scholars). They do not however believe that Muhammad is the son of Allah (“Allah forbid that he have a son!” (Koran Sura 19). Muhammad never claimed to be the son of Allah, or even the messiah. He did however claim to be the last and greatest Prophet, and established the law of abrogation, which nullifies every prophet, scripture, and revelation to precede him. Muhammad even used the law of abrogation to nullify those passages of Koran which taught peace and love, by those which teach violence and death to those who do not submit to Allah’s religion of Islam. Sura 9 was the last major revelation from Jibril to Muhammad and it is indeed the most violent. Abrogation defined is “the latter takes precedence over the former”.

During the last ten years of his life, Muhammad himself led or planned 66 raids in many of which men, women, and children alike were butchered, property confiscated or burned, and slaves taken, used or traded. He took to wife a 6 year old child, consummating the marriage when she was 9. Although Muhammad had limited his followers to only 4 wives, he enjoyed 11 not counting slave girls he kept to service him.

Muhammad would fall into a “trance” (some speculate a seizure) and come to with a new revelation from Allah, which he recited (this is what Quran means, “recitation”) to his companions. Muhammad did not read or write, being illiterate. All his Koran was verbally transferred and retained by memory for years until after his death, and during the Uthman Caliphate the Koran was finally standardized in written form, aggregating bits and pieces of Sura’s from palm leaves, bone, skins, and memory of the reciters.

The “Golden Age of Islam” that is so vaunted by Islam’s scholars and sympathizers, was that time period after Muhammad’s death, in which Islam was ruled by the “Four Rightly Guided Caliphs” of the 7th Century up through about 1100 AD. All four of those Caliphs were either killed in battle or assassinated. The fourth, Muhammad’s son-in-law Ali presided over a massive civil war in which Muslims killed Muslims by the tens of thousands. From this came the two schools of Sunni and Shia Islam.

So there is your founding for Islam. A Koran which in fact contradicts itself in numerous places, is inconsistent in content and directive, a prophet which claimed to be the exclusive, last and greatest channel of Allah’s law and directive for Mankind, and a blood-soaked century in which the believers were ordered, and dutifully obeyed, murdering, robbing, raping those who would not submit to Muhammad’s new religion of Islam.

Now at this point,, you may be thinking, “What about the Crusades when the Christians killed so many Muslims?” Great question and I’m glad that you asked. Remember now, we are talking about Fundamentalism. The Crusades did not begin until 1095 AD. Jesus died in 30 AD.

Jesus never told His disciples to kill anyone. In fact, to the contrary he said, “Those who live by the sword will die by the sword” and He chastised Peter for attempting to defend Him with his sword.  His commission to His followers was to “Go into all the World and preach the Gospel to every creature”. (Mark 16:15) Muhammad said, “Make war on them: Allah will chastise them at your hands and humble them.” (Sura 9:14) The only blood that Jesus ever shed was His own.

The Crusades were largely organized and carried out by the Roman Church originally to stop the tide of Islam invading Europe.  Some Crusades were sponsored by kings themselves seeking glory in battle and sometimes they devolved into something less honorable and Jews, and Papacy rejecting Christians were killed instead of Muslim invaders. This never was a fundamental facet to Christianity and has been held up by its critics as part and parcel of the Christian religion. No, it doesn’t stick. Go back and check the definition of “Fundamental”. Then read your Bible again. Oh, there was plenty of blood for the Christians too, in their first 300 years. Christian blood quenched the dust of the Roman Colosseum and amphitheatres throughout the empire. Romans hunted them for sport, and used them as human torches at garden parties. They were despised, nonetheless they multiplied in such great numbers they changed history.

You see, the fundamental documents, the teachings, and the founders of the religion defines it. Those beliefs are at the core, not the extremities or the fringe. Diagram A illustrates the politically correct view as opposed to the factually correct view.

Diagram A

As you can see the Fundamentalist must be the core value holder simply by definition. If placed on the extremities of the circle, it is no longer a fundamental but an extremity. For example, your hand is an extremity; you can exist without it. Your core (torso) contains your vital organs. Without your vital organs your extremities cannot exist and function.

Diagram B illustrates the effect that each has upon the mainstream. The Fundamentalist, adhering to the core of the belief system, is the influencing factor on the entirety of the religion. The closer you are to the fundamentals, the less you are influenced by the extremities. Conversely, the Extremist, or the fringe element has no practical access to the core values or the fundamentals of the belief system.

Diagram B

So here now is the myth of Islam: “Islam is basically a Peaceful Religion that has been “Hi-Jacked” by Extremists”. Now here is the fact: Islam was a peaceful religion for nearly 13 years while Muhammad resided in Mecca. As he became more obnoxious and belligerent the Meccan’s threatened his life and he and his companions fled to Medina which was a bit more accepting. From there he began raiding Meccan caravans for a living and finally provoked a war.

Islam at its very core is flawed. The fundamentals are inconsistent with a practical and uniform belief system. Its self proclaimed prophet is inconsistent with all that is just and good. It’s deity called Allah is impersonal, untouchable, unloving, and without grace and mercy. Heavy on judgment, Allah would never condescend to sinful Man and offer any semblance of relationship.

This all should make sense by now; Allah is not the God of the Bible. Allah’s symbol is the Moon. The Bible says the moon is the ruler over the darkness, “the lesser light to rule the night”. (Gen. 1:16) The “greater light” to rule the day is known as the Sun. That’s Messiah. (Malachi 4:2) More specifically, Jesus is referred to by Peter as the “day star” (2 Pet. 1:17-19).

So if Allah is not God, and is the “ruler of darkness”, who does that remind you of, Hmmm? Fundamentally, speaking…..

Milestones in review

26 01 2010

I recently read the book Milestones by Seyyid Qutb.  He is considered by some to be the father of the modern Islamic revolution.

Milestones was written from an Egyptian prison in 1964. Qutb had spent 2 years in America several years prior, and reported that his prejudices had been confirmed concerning American depravity. America was ripe for the picking.

Qutb’s book wasn’t his first, or his longest work, but perhaps Milestones has had the most impact on the modern world. Although some attribute the modern “Islamic Revolution” to this book, that was not exactly the outcome that Qutb desired.

Actually, Islamic Revival was his desire and purpose. Milestones was to be the “vanguard” publication to accomplish this[p. 12]. By initiating a revival of Islam among those who profess it, the natural outcome would then be an alteration of the course of human history. Revolution would not be necessary, but world conquest would be at hand. Revival of the fundamentals of Islam within the culture itself would make Islam irresistible in both principle and on the battlefield. A revived and truly Muslim population in the cause of Allah would be invincible.

Islam had, according to Qutb, become compromised by moderates and liberals (Muslim) who, for various reasons, embraced Western Culture and prosperity. Obviously the development of Middle Eastern oil fields was responsible for most of this merging of the two worlds, and the petro-dollar brought an ancient culture roaring forward into the industrialized 20th century with so much speed, there was no time for gradual adaptation. Yet today, there is a stark contrast within these countries, and without the petro-dollar they would shrivel back into the desert survivalist culture of a mere century ago.

Seyyid was disturbed by the fact that Muslims, during the first half of the 20th Century, were with a few exceptions, content to “live and let live”, professing Islam while immersed in ‘Jahili’ (the state of ignorance of guidance of Allah) culture. A Muslim should withdraw from all Jahilayyah relationships and become joined completely to Islam just as Muhammad and the Companions had disavowed all ties to polytheism and its adherents. A Muslim cannot be true Muslim, submitted to Allah, and retain any ties to non-Islamic influences. Qutb laments, “This is why the true Islamic values never enter our hearts, why our minds are never illuminated by Islamic concepts, and why no group of people arises among us who are of the caliber of the first generation of Islam.” He then adjures, “We must return to that pure source from which those people derived their guidance…[their]concepts of…the universe, the nature of human existence…Our aim is first to change ourselves so that we may later change the society…this system which is fundamentally at variance with Islam…”

Qutb’s call to all Islam was a return to Fundamentalism, that being the founding principles of Islam. This “revival” within Islam would then lead to political reformation in Islamic countries, bringing to bear those governments which had established within their own constitutions; that Islam is the official state religion and Islamic jurisprudence (Shari’a) is the law of the land. This move to “right” Egypt’s secularized government along with his fellow members of “Muslim Brotherhood” is the reason he was imprisoned and consequently executed by “The Arab Republic of Egypt” in 1966.

Egypt was but one of the Islamic Republics which had not implemented Shari’a as enumerated in its own constitution. Turkey is the most widely known which has managed, even today, to maintain a modicum of separation (though currently very tenuous) between religion and state; for practical purposes a secularized government. The United States has, in fact, assisted in the establishment of two of the latest Islamic Republics of the world; Iraq and Afghanistan, complete with constitutions which name Islam as the official religion.

Seyyid Qutb goes on in Milestones to express disdain for Muslim apologists who insist that “Jihad” is simply defensive war [p. 61, 62].  He refers to them as “defeatists” [p. 57], and explains that Jihad is the means by which to establish the Divine Law (Shari’a) [p. 62, 63].  Jihad, according to Qutb as well as Koran, is offensive action that “tries to annihilate all those political and material powers which stand between people and Islam…It is not the intention of Islam to force its beliefs on people, but Islam is not merely ‘belief’.”[p. 61] Then he clarifies, “…in an Islamic system there is room for all kinds of people to follow their own beliefs, while obeying the laws of the country which are themselves based on the Divine authority (Shari’a).” [p. 61]

In other words, you can believe whatever you want, but you will live according to Shari’a Law. This is the mission of Islam defined: Not to convert the entire world to Islamic belief; but to bring the entire world under submission to Shari’a, or Islamic Law. [p. 58]

Muslims are not to commit allegiance to a nation or state or geographic area. Neither is a Muslim bound by any commitment or loyalty or oath to non-Muslims. Only to Allah does one claim or pledge allegiance.  Only through Islam is any relationship, contractual or filial valid. “A Muslim has no country except that part of the earth where the Shari’a of [Allah] is established and human relationships are based on the foundation of relationship with [Allah]; a Muslim has no nationality except his belief, which makes him a member of the Muslim community in Dar ul Islam; a Muslim has no relatives except those who share the belief in [Allah]…” [p. 108, 109]

Dar ul Islam is the “house of Islam” which “is that place where the Islamic state is established and the Shari’a is the authority…” The rest of the world is the “house of war” or Dar ul Harb. “A Muslim can have only two possible relations with Dar ul Harb: peace with a contractual agreement [hudna or truce], or war.” [p. 118]

Seyyid further explains, “But any place where the Islamic Shari’a is not enforced and where Islam is not dominant becomes [Dar ul Harb]”. [p. 124]

In the closing paragraphs of Milestones, Qutb conjures macabre images referring to his title, “This intricate point requires deep thought…to whatever country or period of time they belong; for this guarantees that they will be able to see the milestones of the road clearly and without ambiguity, and establishes the path for those who wish to traverse it to the end…Then they will not be anxious, while traversing this road ever paved with skulls and limbs and blood and sweat, to find help and victory…” [p. 158]

This book, the “vanguard” of modern Islamic Fundamentalism, written in 1964 has inspired Jihadists, Mujahidin and Shahada (“martyrs” aka suicide bombers) for 45 years. Seyyid Qutb is considered Shahid by fundamentalist Muslims around the world. I have read several books from and on Islam and would recommend Milestones as essential reading for one who desires to understand the purpose and designs of modern Islam and the resolve of Islamic fundamentalists.
