The Dualistic Dilemma

When I was a kid, if I said something about God, people would ask me if I wanted to be a missionary. A neighbor friend once told me I should be a nun. That unsolicited advise puzzled me then, but now I understand it: Relegate the ‘religious’ to a profession so they stay put in a tidy place where ‘normal’ people don’t have to bother with the “Thees, Thy’s and Therefore’s” of dealing with a Presumed Presence from Whom we would rather keep a comfortable distance unless we need something. Let the religious do their bit while the rest of us live in the real world. The Real World. And what, pray tell, is that exactly?
I didn’t know it then but I had been subtly introduced to dualism—the assumed disparity between the seen and the unseen, between faith and reason–a kind of mental construct that assigns categories to our efforts to grasp Reality. Life assumptions—like dualism can go undetected until a conflict, or irony opens them for full view.
Recently I read an article about a movement in Australia to call the world to pray for America. The press release from the National Day of Prayer, Australia read:
“We in Australia believe it is our turn to bless the nation of America and pray for healing for the USA through prayer and fasting according to II Chronicles 7:14. We in Australia are grateful for the protection that America gave Australia and the nations of the free world during World War II.”
About the same time, a friend loaned us a copy of a self-published compilation of Kingdom Stories; The Life and Labors of Rev. G.V. Albertson (Copyright 1935 by Ruth Hill, Boston Ma). A cowboy turn preacher is a fascinating coming-of-age account that gives color and context to the territory days in ‘Bleeding Kansas’ and early settlements in Oklahoma. It is a personal narrative that reveals the hardness of life that forged the characters of our mid western fore bearers. From one chapter, “ Ill shoot the Preacher”, the author writes,
Many of this generation, hearing the gospel from fine cushioned pews, and enjoying most conventional up-to-date services, could scarcely be made to comprehend the hard beginnings of many of our churches a generation ago and particularly of some of the 2200 that have been founded by Sunday School Missionaries on the frontier . . . Good people who had taken homes there had to be most watchful for property and life; . . . all manner of crimes were being enacted. With those who stood for law and order, the Sunday School Missionary under took to build up a church. (p. 68)
While I work with our son on the renovation of a tiny house in East Lawrence, my husband oversees the building of a school in Africa as a volunteer. Continents apart, our very real worlds could not be more different. I order tile from a warehouse; a contractor measures for kitchen cabinets with special compartments for spices, trash and recycle. Meanwhile Ed admires African workers who pat down the hand-mixed pavers into the earth for the classroom floor; a wall shelf is a luxury and an unexpected convenience. The slow and steady work of missionaries is opening new opportunities and casting doubt on the efficacy of witch doctors for relief from sickness or demons. Demons–now there is a worldview indicator word!
Whether on another continent or during an earlier era, what determines this fundamental difference, besides geography and genetics? In these three cases a Judeo/Christian worldview has taken root or is taking effect; the result permeates every aspect of society—family, economy, and the judicial system. Justice in the Wild West was settled in the streets until law and order was established by a Biblical moral code. African villages under the tribal influence of ancestral loyalties and Islamic customs in some places are yielding to the good news of the God of the Bible. Industry replaces dependency so the disinherited wives and children have a livelihood; education is made affordable and opens doors to new futures for the young. America’s foundation was firmly Judeo/Christian. The unprecedented prosperity that resulted propelled prosperity else where, like Australia.
Ironically, it is not the foreign fields at risk now—it is the homeland of America. Our dualism has finally dealt us a dilemma. We have politely excised our religion out of our public square and left chards where once there was a vibrant fountain. Thankfully the mission fields in Africa and Australia and church plants of yesterday are now returning the favor by praying for America. So what does that say of our maturity, our supposed progress? It sounds more like a civilization in its dotage than its vigor. There is something very full circle or ironic about the pairing of these accounts– this frontier account of fledgling churches that became the root system of communities for generations while the fruit of their labor spread into foreign fields now offering solace to our morally bereft nation.
You have to wonder how did we get here. Critical thinking and self-examination are casualties of a culture that prefers delusions for now then simply pass the nonsense on to the next generation as they observe it practiced by us. And practice it we have. And do. Our dualism is so perfected we stay on cue, going from church to club to work to party to home and hearth and never realize how compartmentalized we have become. Split.
What is it if not schizophrenic to assert “In God We Trust” but refuse to acknowledge Him publicly or privately as the Giver of all of our Nation’s bounty? Or refuse to recognize that the Founders were devoutly determined to invoke God’s favor and did everything necessary to set their lives in agreement with His revealed Word. Divorcing sacred from secular by insisting that politics and religion cannot co-exist does not alter reality. It does however reveal the modern fault line in the American mind. However, I do believe that this split in consciousness is amendable. Where there is a will to examine one’s belief systems and make changes where necessary.
Dietrich Bonheoffer wrote, “All things appear as in a distorted mirror, if they are not seen and recognized in God.”
In Jesus Christ the reality of God has entered into the reality of this world. The place where the questions about the reality of God and about the reality of the world are answered at the same time is characterized solely by the name: Jesus Christ. God and the world are enclosed in this name . . . we cannot speak rightly of either God or the world without speaking of Jesus Christ. All concepts of reality that ignore Jesus Christ are abstractions. As long as Christ and the world are conceived as two realms bumping against and repelling each other re, we are left with only the following options. Giving up on reality as a whole, either we place ourselves in one of the two realms, wanting Christ without the world or the world without Christ—and both cases we deceive ourselves . . . There are not two realities, but only one reality, and that is God’s reality revealed in Christ in the reality of the world. Partaking in Christ, we stand at the same time in the reality of God and in the reality of the world the reality of Christ embraces the reality of the world in itself. The world has no reality of its own independent of Gods’ revelation in Christ . . . [T]he theme of two realms, which has dominated the history of the church again and again, is foreign to the New Testament. (Bonhoeffer, Eric Metaxas, pg469)
Biblical support is easy to find. Colossians 1:15-20.
What governs moral law whether in remote villages, the Old West or ‘progressive’ American cities? Whether codified or not, what places a schematic in place that explains the cause and effect of human behavior within the known universe? The worldview of the inhabitants. But dualism renders it blurry.
It is time as a nation to realize that the foundation of our county and the subsequent buildings upon it are grossly incongruent. Never before has it been as obvious. There is nothing faulty with the foundation. It is brilliant. But over time we have allowed slip shod construction and derelict leaders to occupy prominence, preeminence over our Constitution and our conscience until our national contract is in shreds.
Wherever there is a virtue, there is a counterfeit.
Socialism pretends to correct American individualism with collectivism, which of course has been tried and failed and yet under the current administration has been resurrected with new meanings to our lexicon of trusted words like ‘Hope’ and Transformation, all of which peddle the deranged ideology of Saul Alinsky, exalted to czar status empowering governmental mandates from every agency; all substitutes for what God had in mind:
“Love God with all your heart and strength and mind and your neighbor as yourself.” It has been called the Golden Rule but it is much more than that because it is predicated on self-love. That only happens by first acknowledging God the Creator, Sustainer and Giver of life thus giving Him the proper honor. Then in gratitude we live as stewards of a world we did not make and do not own. Agenda 21 is the pretender of this virtue as it doesn’t recognize the proper created order and seeks to demonize ‘Man’ as the persecutor of the Earth and all the species in it. For sustainability, only an “all- wise world order” would be able to control the evil capitalists who seek profit at the expense of undeveloped counties. The problem is— who gets to make the rules in the New World Order? I hope no one I see on the world stage. No person, because human nature is not trustworthy. Government was instituted to keep human nature in check. The bigger government gets, the more humans can mess it up. It becomes a god and functions like a tyrant. God, not government rights all relationships. Self-governance precedes generosity and ethics.
It has always been about worldview, which asks the big philosophical questions of the individual and society: What is the nature of Reality? (Metaphysics), How can we know it? (Epistemology) How then shall we live? (Ethics) You would think in a university town the residents would have the tools for critical thinking but when slow cooked in the toad water of liberalism, it has fallen prey to a ploy of social justice and redistribution. Of course justice matters. But defining justice is a prerequisite to a workable solution. Muslims and Christians are worldviews apart on definitions of that word. Let’s not pretend.
In an America that is being ‘fundamentally transformed, reduced to the diminished and awkward role of a “Post-America World” player, I have dusted off my textbooks on Western Civilization which is clearly out of vogue as the current President was photographed carrying a book with that title to and from Air Force One—his free ride. Recently published textbooks enhance the view of Islam and minimize Christianity as a persecutor of all things Islamic; our universities are substituting Western Civilization with Middle Eastern Studies. To appeal the Middle Eastern dollars of course and sell our soil and soul! There is nothing more important now than a coherent worldview and to be able to articulate it. Right now we are not a melting pot, we are a cacophony of chaos due to implode.
The Judeo/Christian worldview was fundamental to the shaping of our government. Man, left to himself will corrupt, pervert and mask his intention to do so as long as possible to hold power until tyranny is inevitable. Education cannot redeem– government doesn’t succor the soul. It is not the socialist worldview nor is it the Islamist worldview that founded this country—it was the Biblical worldview.
Not long ago I was asked, “Has the Douglas County Republican Party become too religious? ”
I love the question. A perfectly legitimate one and deserves a well-reasoned answer. But before that, I need to ask questions.
What is meant by the word “religious”? The term usually has connotations of the moralistic. So if by the question they intend to ask, is it proper for a political party to assert that we live in a moral universe? I reply, Yes. And is that assertion necessary to the scope of the Republican Platform? Again I say, Yes.
If by ‘religious’ they are asking, are we promoting one religion over others, I would ask which religion is foundational to our Republic? Is it Hindu, Islam, Rastafarian Atheism, Secularism? None of the above. Only the Judeo/Christian Bible is quoted more than any other source in our founding documents. Judaism gave us the Law; Christianity gives us the only One who was able to keep it, revealing the true nature of God and paid the penalty we deserve. The Founders celebrated this. Allusions and overt references in their writings are unmistakable to the literate. Therefore when George Washington pens words like:
“… Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties move men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation deserts the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. What ever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

I would ask, are we then being too religious to recall, to recite and to seek to reinstitute them? I think not. In fact I would go so far as to say, we utterly fail without them. John Adams says it better than I:
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
(John Adams, in a letter to the officers of the First Brigade of the Third Division of the Militia of Massachusetts, on October 11, 1798)
The question itself is very revealing about the American mind—it is incredibly dualistic. When we assert a belief but subvert it in word or in practice that mind is divided and integrity is at risk. If faith does not permeate all of life it is infantile at best. The unexamined mind leads to unexamined groupthink and so goes society. The only remedy is the entrance of an objective Truth and the hard work of self-examination for a unity of mind and spirit. But that of course begs the question of a spiritual dimension to our existence.
So I would ask, if the questioner is a Republican by affiliation? If so, how do they ignore the fundamental premises of the Republican Platform? If the questioner is of the Democrat party, then I understand the disassociation from God. It is systemic. Sporting a collage of contradictory worldviews is not open-minded liberalism –it is maniacal schizophrenia. We are way past resuming the integrity of our thought, word and deed as a Nation. We must exhume rather than resume.
The confusion I have felt for the better part of 8 years is how to invest my life energy, how to live faithfully when every system in our society is teetering toward collapse. I have chosen to stand squarely on the Republican platform admitting no contradiction to my worldview. I have chosen to stand in a political field erstwhile it questions the viability and relevance of faith; I have chosen Christianity while that faith field in practice often dismisses the immediate or ultimate benefit of the political endeavor. I must somehow find those contradictions illogical as did Dietrich Bonheoffer, whose integrity inspires me in these days.
In the meantime, the Judeo Christian worldview is on the public scaffold. Adherents may follow. However, the God of all Time and all nations will not be mocked and laughs at the derision of Man. Psalms 2. He would shepherd the fatherless and the widow at the very end of all time, and draw nearest to the broken-hearted. Psalms 145. Eventually we will no longer see darkly through the dust of dilemmas but clearly when we see Him face to face. II Corinthians 13:12, Psalms 17:15.
Until then, Reality begs for participants.

Thanksgiving Proclamation 1789

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to“recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

Why Are There No Anti-“ISIS” Rallies?
1 08 2014I have yet to see any CAIR rallies, or any other Muslims rallying in the cause to separate Islamic State from Islam! Where are the chants: ‘This is not Islam”! or “No! No! Crucifixions! This is not our way!” or maybe “Stop the killing, Stop the Hate, We condemn Islamic State!” Perhaps “From Damascus to the Gulf, Stop beheading, that’s enough!”
Why? Why do you not see these rallies across America or Europe? Very simple! Because these methods ARE part and parcel of the propagation and purification of Islam, yes, according to the Prophet, Muhammad! There is no condemnation for the Jihadi who is either killing “infidels” (atheists or pagans) or “apostates” (Muslims who have gone astray), or Jews and Christians who fail to submit to the Islamic State (Caliphate). This is prescribed practice according to “Umdat al-Salik” (The Classic Manuel of Islamic Holy Law, otherwise known as “Shari’a”).

It is the method by which Muhammad conquered the entire Arabian Peninsula, and followed by ‘The Four Rightly Guided Caliphs” (Abu Bakr, Ummar, Uthman, Ali), a period of conquest that spanned a hundred years which included the Islamic conquest of all the Middle East into South and Central Asia, North Africa, and the Iberian Peninsula (Spain, Portugal), finally stopped by the armies of Charles Martel in France.
The Third Caliphate split into a civil war which resulted in what we know as Shia and Sunni, a theological/political disagreement over who is the legal successor of Muhammad, and thus began the great schism which we see today, wherein Muslim is allowed to kill Muslim because one group views the other as “Apostate”. The group now known as “Islamic State” is Sunni. The governing majority of Iraq that the United States established is Shia (supported by Iran).
Other Sunni Jihad groups include the Muslim Brotherhood and all its spawn, including HAMAS (Gaza), Egyptian Islamic Jihad, Islamic Jihad of Palestine, PLO, Fatah, and a myriad of other militant groups around the world including CAIR, MAS, MPAC, MSA, ISNA, ICNA, NAIT among many more in the United States. Yes, CAIR is HAMAS.
Shiite, or Iranian supported terrorists include Hezbollah in Lebanon and lessor known groups such as Mahdi’s Army, Promise Day Brigade.
When these two groups can’t find enough Infidels to kill they will kill each other for Apostacy.
Such is the quality of life lived (or not) under the Islamic State, otherwise known as the Caliphate. It is the prime directive of all good Muslims, the ‘Ummah”, to establish this Caliphate so that “Allah’s Religion Shall Reign Supreme”. If you don’t believe me, ask the next CAIR rally that you see to condemn HAMAS, ISIS (IS), or any other Jihad group. Even Mohamed Elibiary, a Muslim Brotherhood affiliate who tweeted recently that “the Caliphate is inevitable”. Elibiary was one of several Muslim Brotherhood associates who were appointed to the Department of Homeland Security by the Obama Administration after the election of 2008. Elibiary allegedly provided classified documents to media, but DHS Secretary Napolitona did not deem it necessary of disciplinary action.

Now you know why the United States Government has been “aiding and abetting the enemy”, HAMAS, (designated by the Federal government under the Bush administration, as a “terrorist organization”, so yes they are the enemy!) in its battle with Israel. Now you know why the Administration enacted what amounted to “economic sanctions” on Israel by shutting down all American air carriers for the span of two days under a false pretense of “safety concerns” while these same airlines have been flying in and out of Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan with no such restrictions from the FAA. This also explains Israel’s frustration and distrust in the US Government. (If not for Senator Ted Cruz’s efforts this FAA restriction would have lasted much longer.)
Israel knows if they do not destroy HAMAS once and for all, this war will never end. Former Prime Minister Golda Meir once said, “Israel will have peace when the Arabs love their children more than they hate us.” Current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “If the Arabs lay down their weapons we will have peace. If Israel lay down their weapons there will be no more Israel.”
Truer words were never spoken by man.
As I have written in a prior article, the HAMAS Charter specifically points out that there is no “two state solution” and “the only solution is Jihad”. HAMAS and the PLO cannot abide a Jewish State of Israel, thus the only possibility for peace in the region is a “One State Solution”, that is governed by Israel, to assure the attacks on Israel cease and therefore Israel’s military responses will not be needed against the “Palestinians”. In other words, the threat will be mitigated simply because there is no “safe haven” for the terrorists to organize, re-arm, regroup, and launch attacks from.
Author and former Israeli official Caroline Glick is one of my favorite writers. She has written a book that explains this fully in “One State Solution”. Israel simply cannot allow HAMAS to survive.
As for the United States, it remains to be seen what the American People will do in response to the White House assisted infiltration of the government by the Muslim Brotherhood, and how they will react to the current invasion of our Southern Border, which by CBP (Customs and Border Patrol) reports show that a large percentage of those apprehended are from the Middle East, bearing tattoos in Farsi and Arabic, (speaking those languages), and prayer rugs and Korans.
Benny when you finish with HAMAS we could use a little leadership here in the USA.

Federal Over-Reach Part 3: Commies, Coal and Cattle
5 06 2014While the Obama Administration and the EPA continue their assault on the coal industry in the United States, mandating a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2020, it seems that their “war on coal” is only interested in attacking US power companies. In fact, it’s cutting sweet deals with foreign interests, exporting American coal for pennies on the dollar from BLM controlled lands.
Montana
The Northern Plains Resource Council has filed a lawsuit on May 14, 2014, against a federal coal lease in Musselshell County, Montana, alleging that BLM failed to study the impacts of mining in ranch country. Huge cracks appearing in the surface there are affecting spring-flows, draining water away from livestock and other ranching uses, which will also affect wildlife.
Much concern is also being raised about the incredible loss of revenue to American taxpayers in light of the BLM “giving away 25 coal seams for the price of one” to Signal Peak Energy, the mining company involved. An international commodities company, Gunvor, bought one third interest in the coal mine in 2011. A close friend of Vladimir Putin, named Timchenko, held a 43% interest in Gunvor until the sanctions resulting from the Russian annexation of Crimea. Timchenko, who was co-founder of Gunvor, sold his interest to his partner, Tornqvist. Forbes magazine places Timchenko on the list of sanctioned Russian billionaires and close associates with Putin, who according to this Forbes article, may still have access to Gunvor funds, and holds Gunvor investments.
As the Obama noose tightens around the necks of domestic coal energy providers, those companies seeking to stay in business have looked offshore. American coal exports have doubled since 2009 to 120 Million tons according to this Wall Street Journal story. That same story says that European natural gas powered electricity is being displaced by much cheaper imported American coal, mostly UK, Netherlands, and Italy. Germany is planning to shut down its nuclear powered plants and replace with coal. China and India’s voracious appetite for coal has hardly even been addressed by American coal, yet.
So, as America’s coal consumption drops, the rest of the world’s increased usage will consume much more than what America conserves. This will further place America at an economic disadvantage, especially if the government continues to sell its coal at firesale clearance prices.
New Mexico
Meanwhile, across the country to southern New Mexico where yet another battle is under way between federal authorities and ranchers of Otero County, along the Aqua Chiquita (Little Water creek). US Forest Service has built metal fences with padlocked gates to keep cattle from accessing water from the spring-fed stream. (Seems ironic they can build fences to control cattle and ranchers but refuse to finish the border fence to control illegal aliens and drug traffic.)
The County Commissioners voted to order the Sheriff to cut the locks, allowing ranchers to access water for their livestock. According to the Forest Service, the fence was built to preserve the “wetlands” of the area. The frustration continues to grow and no resolution appears to be in sight. U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce (R-NM) said what’s happening in Otero County is another example of overreach by the federal government. “These disputes could be easily avoided if federal bureaucrats would stick to their constitutional oath and respect property rights,” he said. County Commissioner Tommy Herrell called the agency’s actions tyranny, he said the Forest Service is unwilling to temporarily open the gates while the parties search for long-term solutions.

Just a couple hours drive southwest of Agua Chiquita near Las Cruces is another 500,000 acres just recently designated as a National Monument by President Obama. National Monuments, parks and wilderness areas in border states have long been corridors for criminal elements of all kinds coming up from Mexico. Via this Fox News story:
Dona Ana County Sheriff Tom Garrison told FoxNews.com the monument will likely hamper law enforcement’s ability to patrol the area. That’s because nearly half of the land will be set aside as wilderness. When that happens, the area will be largely closed off to vehicles, including police cars.
Garrison said his concerns have fallen on deaf ears, and says he’s been shut out of the process.
“They tell the media they have talked to law enforcement, but they haven’t talked to local law enforcement,” he said. “They haven’t talked to me. They talk to Border Patrol and Border Patrol tells [lawmakers and media] whatever Washington tells them to say.”
Again, local ranchers are concerned that the new designation will further restrict their leases and property rights. The Cliven Bundy story in Nevada is just the tip of the iceberg.
[Interesting Statistic: The United States Government directly owns 650 million acres of land. That’s 30% of the landmass of the entire 50 States, or almost 19 times the size of the state of Iowa!]
America, when “Federal Over-Reach” starts to limit your bank accounts, travel, and consumption of goods and services, perhaps you will remember these anecdotes. When your retirement accounts and pensions, along with your medical care, become subjected to these same types of controls perhaps you’ll realize it’s too late to do anything about it. Sedgwick County Sheriff Surrenders to Hamas
Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter today cancelled next week’s planned UTT 2-day training program, caving in to complaints by Hamas and local Muslim Brotherhood leaders in Wichita and other parts of Kansas. For more details, watch the local ABC Report.
The loudest complaints came from Hamas spokesman Ibrahim Hooper. Hooper works for the Hamas organization called the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). For those confused about CAIR being Hamas…
In a December 2007 government filing in the US v Sabri Benkhala appeal – an Al Qaeda operative – the government stated: “From its founding by the Muslim Brotherhood leaders, CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists.” A massive amount of evidence entered into the largest Hamas trial ever successfully prosecuted in U.S. history (US v Holy Land Foundation (“HLF”), Dallas, 2008) identified CAIR as the fourth organization created by the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee in America. The Palestine Committee is Hamas. Hamas is a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. government.
When CAIR petitioned the Federal Court to remove it’s name from the Unindicted Co-Conspirator list in the HLF case, the trial Judge Jorge Solis wrote in his 2010 unsealed opinion, “The Government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA, and NAIT with the HLF, the Islamic Association of Palestine (“IAP”), and with Hamas.” CAIR was left on the Co-Conspirator list. CAIR appealed the ruling and the appellate court ruled unanimously to keep CAIR listed as an “Unindicted Co-Conspirator” in the largest Hamas trial in U.S. history because of the overwhelming evidence.
Other Muslims in the community who complained to the Sedgwick Sheriff’s office were leaders and spokesmen from the local Muslim Students Associations (the first Muslim Brotherhood organization established in America in 1963) and the Islamic Society of Wichita – a Muslim Brotherhood organization and a subsidiary of the Islamic Society of North America which is the largest MB organization here and a financial support entity for Hamas per the evidence at the HLF trial.
These are the groups and individuals who have led the charge to shut this training down in Wichita…enemies of the United States.
Because of the nature of the threat from the Islamic Movement in the United States (an insurgency), the burden falls to local police to be the tip of the spear in countering their efforts here. When local police leaders are not aware of this and do not understand their critical role in the larger war, the war will be lost.In the press release today the Sedgwick Sheriff’s Office stated: “The Sheriff’s Office will find an instructor, either from the Department of Justice or another subject matter expert to present such material in the future.” Unfortunately for Wichita law enforcement, this material is not being presented by any other organization in the nation besides UTT. A few years ago during a 3-day program at Headquarters Marine Corps for approximately 115 professionals from FBI (to include the National Joint Terrorism Task Force personnel), CIA, DHS, DIA, NSA, local and state police, military, and others, a Counterterrorism Supervisor from FBI Headquarters stood up in front of the entire crowd and stated he never heard any of the material presented but confirmed it was true and factual based on the evidence and materials presented. When asked, none of the other attendees were aware of this information either, including the men and women from the FBI’s National Joint Terrorism Task Force in attendance.
So, by canceling this training in Kansas, the Sedgwick County Sheriff has not only emboldened our enemy – namely the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas – he has ensured that local law enforcement will NOT get the very training they need to protect and defend their communities.

CAIR Using Wichita Paper to Attempt Shut Down of Law Enforcement Counter-Terrorism Training
22 05 2014The following report is via “Understanding the Threat” newsletter. This attempt by CAIR, a known HAMAS supporting organization in the USA, is just the latest in a string of attempts to either shut down these counter-terrorism training seminars for Law Enforcement or any other speakers or information that brings bad publicity to Islam. Many of these attempts have been successful, with local authorities kowtowing to CAIR’s demands. CAIR was a leading influence on the Obama Administration to remove the counter Islamic Terrorism training (mentioned below) from the FBI’s manuals. CAIR was also instrumental in reframing the Fort Hood terrorist attack that killed 13 unarmed military personnel, wounding 30 more, into a “workplace violence” incident, expunging all references to Islam, jihad, Muslim, or terrorism from the official report.
CAIR has been unsuccessful in deterring Kansas Legislators and the Governor from passing American Laws for American Courts legislation, a “Female Genital Mutilation” deterrent bill, and just this session a “counter-terrorism” bill coming on the heels of the uunsuccessful Jihad attack on the Wichita airport last fall.
Today (5-21), Wichita Eagle reporter Tim Potter produced a pro-Hamas propaganda piece by regurgitating the comments provided to him by national Hamas spokesman Ibrahim Hooper, who represents the Hamas front group CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) trying to shut down a 2-day “Understanding the Threat” (UTT) training program for law enforcement in Kansas next week.
This begs the question, if Mr. Potter wrote a pro-Hamas article knowing it would possibly shut down fact/evidence based training by UTT to law enforcement and thus help Hamas’ efforts in the U.S., or simply help Hamas in a general way, does this constitute “Material Support of Terrorism” in accordance with the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in July 2010 on the matter (“Holder, Attorney General, et al VS Humanitarian Law Project”).
And if Mr. Potter wrote this Hamas puff-piece without any understanding of who Ibrahim Hooper is, shouldn’t he be fired for being incompetent at the very job the Wichita Eagle is paying him to do?

True to their Kansas backbone, and not deterred by a flea like Ibrahim Hooper, the law enforcement officials are standing firm and plan to move forward with this training.
What is noticeably missing in Mr. Potter’s article is any mention that evidence in the largest terrorism financing and Hamas trial ever successfully prosecuted in U.S. history (US v Holy Land Foundation (“HLF”), Dallas, 2008) revealed CAIR was created by the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood to support Hamas and is hostile to the United States. CAIR is listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the HLF trial and the Department of Justice lists them as members of the U.S. Palestine Committee in America, which is Hamas.
When CAIR asked the U.S. Court to remove it from the “Unindicted Co-Conspirator List” the federal judge, Jorge Solis, wrote in his unsealed ruling, “The government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA, and NAIT with HLF, the Islamic Association for Palestine (“IAP”) and with Hamas.” This matter was sent to the appellate court which ruled unanimously to keep CAIR on the unindicted co-conspirator list because of the overwhelming evidence against them.
In this case, the government provided a massive amount of documentary and testimonial evidence linking CAIR to the Hamas conspiracy for which HLF and its leaders where convicted and given lengthy jail sentences.
Also missing from Tim Potters article is the fact that the FBI cut off all ties with CAIR because of the HLF evidence linking them to Hamas.
So why is the Wichita Eagle and Tim Potter offering them a platform to attack UTT and the upcoming training program?
The President of UTT is John Guandolo, a decorated Marine Corps Infantry and Reconnaissance officer and combat veteran, who, as an FBI Special Agent, created the first training program in the government detailing the Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamic Movement, Sharia, and strategies to deal with the enemy front groups like CAIR. Mr. Guandolo was awarded the “Defender of the Homeland” Award by Senators Jon Kyl and Joseph Lieberman for his efforts.
No mention of any of this in Tim Potter’s article.
One has to assume the Wichita Eagle made an affirmative decision to promote a known Jihadi (“Terrorist” if you prefer) like Ibrahim Hooper over a combat veteran who continues to offer a mountain of facts already in evidence that CAIR is Hamas.
With this in mind, let us turn our eyes back to the Supreme Court’s July 2010 ruling on Material Support. The ruling details what constitutes “material support” and specifically affirms that “any” actions taken to support a designated terrorist organization constitutes “material support” including menial tasks and classes on first aid, because the government and Court understand you cannot separate various kinds of support. “Advocating” for a terrorist organization is also considered material support so long as the advocates “performed in coordination with, or at the direction of, a foreign terrorist organization.” Does the Wichita Eagle know CAIR is Hamas? Did they do any research whatsoever?
It appears to come down to two choices: the Wichita Eagle is a grossly negligent media outlet, or it is knowingly supporting a Hamas entity. Who will pose the question to them? It deserves an answer.I encourage readers to do a few things:
1. Contact the reporter Tim Potter at tpotter@wichitaeagle.com or 316-268-6684 and pose the above questions to him.
2. Contact FBI Headquarters and ask them why a Hamas entity (CAIR) with whom they have broken all ties remains unindicted. 202-324-3000.
3. Contact the Attorney General’s Public Comment Line and ask why Hamas front CAIR remains unindicted. 202-353-1515.It is time to purge terrorist organizations like CAIR and their leaders from our society. It can begin by holding people and organizations in our communities – like the Wichita Eagle – accountable so, at a minimum, they will stop supporting Jihadis.

Federal Over-reach Part 2: Bundy Ranch Commentary
19 04 2014Quite a few friends and acquaintances have been asking for my take on the Bundy Ranch controversy in Nevada. I have reserved much response until I felt I could express an honest and educated opinion. I’ve read a lot of reports, watched a few video reports, and since I don’t get Fox News I haven’t seen much reporting on television that I can depend on to give any kind of honest critique that isn’t skewed by a pro-Obama, pro-Progressive ideology. Today an article came across my screen that helped clarify the situation for me. Even though I am “Johnny Come Lately” to the discussion, here goes!
As you know, the BLM backed down from a 2 week long standoff with the Bundy Family and a crowd of protesting supporters, some armed, some unarmed. I was

personally relieved to hear this news. I really did not expect the Feds to de-escalate the situation. Here we are burgeoning on the anniversary dates of Waco, Columbine, and the Oklahoma City bombing. The recent KKK lunatic who attacked the Jewish Center’s in Kansas City, attempting to kill Jews and killing 3 Christians instead, has now added to the “weirdness” of April, not to mention Adolph Hitler’s birthday and Earth Day. It would have been true to form had a backfiring truck engine, or an accidental weapon discharge initiated a massacre, similar to Wounded Knee. Of course, as Senator Harry Reid cautioned, This ain’t over. He is right about that. But thankfully, a potential powder keg was diffused.
Speaking of Harry Reid, there are all kinds of strange ties and accusations flying about concerning his interests in the Bundy case. Most of those ties lead to Chinese interests. The Communist China energy giants China Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and Sinopec have already bought large interests in almost 28 million acres of US petroleum development, all since Obama took office, reversing a Bush administration policy blocking China based on national security concerns. (For reference that is half the size of the state of Iowa!) Chinese corporation ENN Energy Group, an alternative energy giant, is connected to a solar panel farm in Clark County Nevada, the same county as the Bundy Ranch, but not the same property. Harry Reid’s son happens to work for ENN Energy. (More on the Reid/China connection here at WND and this YouTube video)
Then there’s Reid’s connection to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Former staffer for Harry Reid is Neil Kornze, now the head of BLM. At the ripe age of 35, he has spent his career in government since college, probably never getting any dirt on his shoes. None of this really bodes well for Harry.
My real concern is that the BLM, supposedly an environmental impact and administrative management office, is hiring contractors to confiscate private property (cattle) when they are not trained or equipped to manage or provide for the health and welfare of those cattle causing many of them to die (reportedly young calves were separated from their mothers during the gathering, mostly by helicopters), and shooting others outright. Add to that the deployment of paramilitary spec-ops type “Rangers” who are directly employed by BLM, for the purpose of enforcement against private citizens. (The Rangers were deployed before the militia or the crowd of protesting supporters arrived).
In a recent letter, dated April 15, and addressed to the President of the United States, the Secretary of the Interior, and the Director of the BLM, Texas Congressman Steve Stockman challenged the Administration, citing US Code that the BLM has no authority “to assume peremptory police powers, that role being reserved to the States” and that the federal government must “seek assistance from local law enforcement whenever the use of force may become necessary.” Rep. Stockman goes further pointing out that it appears the the Secretary of the Interior has violated federal law by by-passing the local law enforcement offices. Read Stockman’s letter here.
Whether Bundy is guilty of trespass, failure to pay fees, or whatever, this obvious over-reach by a federal administrative office seeking to enforce law by use of deadly force, or “peremptory police powers”, is very, very, dangerous. The BLM spent over $3 million on the Bundy standoff. According to documentary film-maker Dennis M. Lynch, he has not seen this much firepower deployed on the Southern border where drugs and people are routinely smuggled across. “I never see the M-16’s down on the border stopping the drugs, and the terrorists, and the day laborers coming through on BLM property,” he says in this video. Please watch it. The BLM spent over $3 million on air and ground resources to lock down a piece of ground the size of Delaware. This to confiscate 400 cattle with a current estimated value of about $350K which they then released.
Commentator Dana Loesch had this to say (via Human Events story “Cowmaggeddon“):
Dana Loesch also says mainstream media reporting about the immediate cause of the government’s futile cattle roundup is incorrect, as Cliven Bundy has not categorically refused to pay grazing fees:
“Those who say Bundy is a “deadbeat” are making inaccurate claims. Bundy has in fact paid fees to Clark County, Nevada in an arrangement pre-dating the BLM. The BLM arrived much later, changed the details of the setup without consulting with Bundy — or any other rancher — and then began systematically driving out cattle and ranchers. Bundy refused to pay BLM, especially after they demanded he reduce his [herd]’s head count down to a level that would not sustain his ranch.
Bundy OWNS the water and forage rights to this land. He paid for these rights. He built fences, established water ways, and constructed roads with his own money, with the approval of Nevada and BLM. When BLM started using his fees to run him off the land and harassing him, he ceased paying. So should BLM reimburse him for managing the land and for the confiscation of his water and forage rights?”
Then you can throw in a term called “prescriptive rights” and it is possible that Bundy may have a legal position that BLM is afraid of, according to this story on Benswaan.com. According to Todd Devlin, a Montana rancher, and county commissioner with real working contacts in the Dept of Interior having taught workshops for the agency in the past, prescriptive right is similar to an easement across another property owner in order to access yours. I’ll let you read Ben Swaan’s story for yourself to understand it better. Devlin also said the amount owed by Bundy is probably closer to $200K than the $1.1 million that BLM wants, which most likely is comprised of penalties and fines for trespass cattle. Devlin went to BLM to find out why they weren’t using other channels to work with Bundy. He said the logical and conventional means of collecting such debt is to place a lien on the cattle. This will prohibit the sanctioned owner from selling the cattle. It’s kind of like the IRS garnishing your paycheck, or the bank imposing a lien on your car. When asked why the BLM hadn’t placed a lien on the cattle in question, they responded, “We hadn’t thought of that…” But they are considering it now.
Wow…
I won’t even go into the “Free Speech Zones” that were cordoned off by BLM for the express purpose and intent of containing the citizens who were exercising their right of grievance against the government in a peaceful protest. Silly me. I thought America was a “free speech zone”…

Video: So God Made a Liberal
12 03 2014Ok, you can keep all your theological corrections to yourself, and look beyond the gravity of the state of our Union for just about 3 minutes. This video is a parody of the late, great Paul Harvey’s “God Made a Farmer” speech in 1978. Paul was an icon to “common sense America” for 40 years. Clips from that speech were used in a Dodge truck ad for the 2013 Superbowl, and breathed new fame into the nearly forgotten lines delivered to the nation’s Future Farmers of America so long ago. Whoever did this parody studied Mr. Harvey a bit prior to this version. I had emailed the link last year, but it came up in a recent discussion group and several requested it again.
Sometimes a little humor can alleviate the pain of reality that keeps smacking you in the face. Laughter has thus been called “the best medicine” by Readers Digest, and it really helps to laugh at yourself…sometimes…but the rest of the time it’s more fun to laugh at the other guys! No Political Fix to America’s Death Spiral
11 03 2014Guest Column from GOPUSA by Matt Barber. I have never met Matt but I think I know him quite well. He is singing my song here! This is one of the best columns I have read for a long time.
The question is not, “Is America falling?” but, rather, “Why is America falling?”
I’m currently writing from CPAC 2014, the nation’s largest gathering of conservative political junkies. The event is being held at the beautiful Gaylord National hotel, adjacent to the scenic shoreline of the historic Potomac River. We’re just a few short miles from Washington, D.C., which, at least for now, remains the modern-day equivalent of the Roman Empire.
I say “at least for now” because America finds itself skipping along the primrose path to Rome’s ill-fated finale. I needn’t trouble you with evidence to that effect as this tragic reality is hopelessly inescapable. It’s a self-evident truth. Unless our next generation of leaders – Gen-Y Millennials – can successfully turn things around, we’re up the Potomac without a paddle.
The day’s speeches have ended and conference-going night revelers are about. The indoor balcony to my 12th-floor room faces, as the hotel website accurately boasts, a “spectacular 18-story glass atrium.” My balcony door is open wide, and the bustling din from several parties across the cavernous vestibule soaks the room.
A chorus has begun. What is this? Have party-goers launched an impromptu rendering of “America the Beautiful”?
No, this is a chant, joined by scores – a hundred or more perhaps – of young conservative bacchanalians on multiple suite balconies and from the open air bar below. What is that they’re chanting? Is that, “Amer-i-ca! Amer-i-ca!”?
At first, it’s hard to tell. It’s a booming echo that reverberates throughout the entire hotel.
And then it becomes clear.
Alas, our next generation of conservative leaders are not chanting, “Amer-i-ca! Amer-i-ca!” They are, instead, chanting, “F*** O-bama! F*** O-bama!”
And I hang my head.
So, now, children at the hotel, parents, staff, tourists – both foreign and domestic – and every other conceivable variety of guest who happens to be staying at the Gaylord National hotel during CPAC 2014 has a skewed, and likely irreversible, first impression of America’s conservative movement.
Or is it skewed?
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m certain that the vast majority of CPAC attendees, both young and old, are as appalled and embarrassed by these drunken yuck monkeys as am I.
But I think the very fact that these blazer-clad, Cro-Magnon morons could even imagine, for a moment, that it’s somehow cool to publicly chant “F*** Obama!” – or “F***” anything for that matter – speaks to a much larger problem, not just within the conservative movement, but, more importantly, within our entire culture.
I’m never going to win a popularity contest. It’s not my goal to be liked. I’ll probably never be a “Fox News contributor” or even broadly recognized as a dutifully compliant cog within the greater, GOP-heavy “conservative” political wheel.
That’s because I say things like this: There is no political fix to America’s death spiral.
We are drowning in a turgid river of postmodern relativism. This is a spiritual problem, not a political problem. This is a worldview matter, not a partisan matter.
Hitherto it has been “progressives” alone dumping buckets of moral relativist poison into the Potomac. But, in the last decade or so, self-styled “conservatives” have likewise begun drinking the subjectivist Kool-Aid.
Libertine libertarianism has infected the conservative movement like a cancer. Situational ethics, driven by emotional, anecdotal sob stories, are used to justify every moral wrong as an absolute right. “Get off the social issues!” they demand. “Gay marriage? No problem.”
These gun-toting, free-market “conservatives” (of which I’m both) grace us with beauties like this: “I’m a ‘pro-choice,’ ‘pro-gay’ conservative,” or, “Yeah, I’m shacking up with my girlfriend, big deal.”
Relativism blurs the fixed lines of demarcation between right and wrong, which leads to the abolition of absolute truth, which leads to pockets of moral anarchy, which leads to Barack Obama and Eric Holder deciding which laws to ignore and which laws to enforce, which leads to lawlessness, which leads to chaos.
Welcome to chaos.
Yes. The “social issues” matter.
The battle is not Republican vs. Democrat. Neither is it conservative vs. liberal. The battle precedes time itself. The battle is right vs. wrong. The battle is moral vs. immoral. The battle is truth vs. the lie.
The battle is between good and evil.
We’ve been playing political Ping-Pong for decades. We’ve been, as they say, rearranging the chairs on the Titanic while Democrats take the helm for a spell, and Republicans take the helm for a spell.
The reality is that both political parties have driven us into the iceberg, and then pranced off together, hand-in-hand, to play best-of-three racquetball at the congressional bathhouse.
While here at CPAC I met an interesting fellow by the name of Frank Mitchell. Frank founded the Memphis-based, classically conservative group: “A Shining City on a Hill.” During our discussion, Frank said this: “There is no liberty without justice. Liberty without justice is only license.”
Libertine libertarianism.
America cannot survive under a worldview that embraces unrestricted moral license. Such license destroys the individual. And such license destroys the nation.
“Liberty without justice is only license.”
There is only one Arbiter of true justice. And justice is defined by Him, not by us. He sets the parameters. As both individuals, and as a nation, we are ill-advised to breach those parameters and well-served to maintain them.
America does not need a political fix. America needs a spiritual fix.

Turkey PM tells Obama to take care of Pennsylvania-based Islamist Gulen
8 03 2014And now the power struggle between Islamists begins to suck the American government in. The Obama administration has been so friendly to all facets of the Islamist movement within the US, (with the only named exception being “Al-Qaida”, who he actually supports in Syria), that no thought has been given to the the players, and what their seperate agendas may be. Turkey’s Prime MInister Recep Erdogen, an Islamist in his own right, is now openly challenging the Gulenist’s educational (dawa) system and is asking Obama to “take care” of Erdogen’s problem, Fethullah Gulen who resides in Pennsylvania. Obama now will have to choose between his Islamist friend on the international Islamist field, or his Islamist friend Gulen who’s domestic agenda is to enlighten the United States as well as the rest of the world to the “blessing” of Islam… Interesting times, indeed!

Federal Overreach – Did You Know?

Did you know that SB 276 enacts the state sovereignty over non-migratory wildlife act? The bill states that Kansas is successfully managing the prairie chicken and that this is none of the U.S. government’s business (my paraphrase).
Did you know that the 2nd Amendment protection act was passed last year protecting the sovereign right of Kansans to manufacture and possess firearms within Kansas without federal interference?
Did you know that the federal government is exerting its reach into more and more parts of our lives that are outside its constitutional function and that further legislation is being considered to limit the federal government when it comes to environmental issues, healthcare issues, etc.?
Did you know that the U.S. Constitution clearly delineates the powers and function of the federal government and makes clear, in the 10th Amendment, that “powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The 9th Amendment clearly states that “the enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”
Did you know that the Democratic Republic of Korea, North Korea, has a constitution which clearly delineates “genuine democratic rights and liberties” of its citizens; equal rights for all its citizens “irrespective of sex, race, occupation, length of residence, property status, education, party affiliation, political views, or religion?” Which defines the fact that the state’s sovereignty resides in its people; that the “organs of state power” are “elected on the principle of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot;” that these elected bodies have “close ties with their constituents and are accountable to them;” that the elected officials can be recalled “if the latter are not to be trusted?” That “the State shall guarantee conditions for the free activity of democratic political parties and social organizations?” That “citizens are guaranteed freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly, demonstration and association” and “freedom of religious beliefs?”
In the North Korean constitution “citizens are entitled to free medical care; freedom to reside in and travel to any place;” that “marriages and the family shall be protected by the State” which “pays great attention to consolidating the family, the basic unit of social life.”
Their constitution guarantees private property; an eight-hour workday; a hygienic work environment; prohibits child labor; includes a compulsory, free 11-year public education system including preschool; and provides for protection for the environment.
Did you know that recently 80 North Korean citizens were executed in an arena full of people, machine-gunned down, for offenses such as possessing Bibles?
Did you know that virtually all authoritarian governments on earth have such constitutions guaranteeing rights?
Did you know that a constitution and the laws of government are not worth the paper they’re written on unless they are enforced? If the government will not obey its own laws, or must “regulate” the rights of citizens…?
Did you know that the U.S. Declaration of Independence states that, “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government.”

Laws of Nature…and Duck Commander

Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty”, via MailOnline
Up until just a couple of weeks ago I had never seen an episode of “Duck Dynasty”, the mega-hit cable channel A&E’s “reality” show. Stands to reason, as we don’t have cable, or satellite TV. It’s just something I can’t get good with; paying for television reception, subscribing to radio programming, and having a phone that can more than my desktop computer. Ok, maybe my wife has a little influence on some of those things, but she’s a “pioneer woman” and makes “Miss Kay” look like a pampered city gal! Yep, I could tell you some stories, but she reads this, so…yeah.
Anyway, some friends loaned us the first season of “Duck Dynasty” on dvd and we watched the entire season in about three settings. Halfway through the 2nd episode my wife looks at me and says, “This could be you and the ‘Williams boys’!” I smiled, picked up the remote and turned up the volume. I must admit, she has a good point.
The reason myself and the “Williams boys” didn’t play sports in high school was it got in the way of hunting and fishing, and part-time jobs. Someday I’ll write a book…
The boys and I were, admittedly, unchurched, irreligious heathen who would consider spending an hour in church on Sunday morning sacrilegious, or at least a poor time management decision. A boy can shoot a lot of squirrels “still hunting” in one hour. Little did I know, even with that attitude, I was getting an education in the finer points of theology. There are endless applications in nature of theological truths. Things like:
*If you need to drink out of the creek be sure it’s moving and follow it downstream for a ways to make sure no dead cows are layin’ in it! (Ok, not advisable to normal humans.)
*A copperhead snake will chase you, especially if you’re screaming. (So, I was 5 years old…Obviously, it made an impression!)
*Your dad may be throwing rocks in your direction and yelling “Shut up!”, but he’s not trying to stone you… He’s trying to stop the copperhead snake that is chasing you with intent to kill!
*Don’t let your coonhound swim after the racoon which is trying to lure him into the deep water, unless you’re willing to join him in the fight to save his stupid canine posterior.
*Hunting seasons are in place to advance the propagation of game animals, and are enforced by the state for the protection of species. (Many laws of man are complimentary to the laws of nature.)
*Bucks like doe’s…and…doe’s like bucks.
I know, these are, for the most part, fairly obvious. But there is a national debate which has gained a larger audience just in the last week or so, which wasn’t quite so obvious to many until the “Duck Commander”, Phil Robertson gave his honest answer to a question from a GQ Magazine reporter, who may, or may not have had an agenda. Had we not just watched several episodes of the popular show, I may have just sat this one out. However, I have watched the story unfold on a daily basis since it broke last week, and, having previously established a position on the subject that drew so much fire, I feel somewhat negligent if I fail to make a few comments, most of which I have published before.
As I perused the comments of many of the stories accusing Phil Robertson of “homophobia”, “hate”, “bigotry”, “racism”, “hate speech”, and other vile names which will not be printed here, I came across one particularly interesting story where a Methodist pastor was advocating for same-sex marriage. Said preacher had recently been “defrocked” by his denomination when he married his “gay” son and his “significant other”. I made a few respectful observations on various stories and was immediately the target of LGBT militants/advocates. One story on a CNN blogsite asked the question, “Does Phil Robertson get the Bible Wrong?”. You can read it but to save your time and keep you on my blogsite, I’ll just sum it up as a liberal reporter finds a couple of liberal’s with a seminary degree to do some “scholarly” gymnastics to say the Bible doesn’t really say what it says, particularly concerning homosexuality. Somewhere amid the over 5K comments (so far) I made the statement to the effect of, “Do what you must to justify your behavior, this is the most acrobatically obtuse foray into Biblical exegesis I have ever witnessed…” and immediately was challenged that “Jesus never mentioned homosexuality”, and if I were a true Christian I would not make such “hypocritical” statements.
I have also been told by these “gentle spirits” and “true Christians” that the Old Testament passages (such as Lev. 19:22-23 forbidding men to lay with other men and inter-species copulation, e.i. bestiality) are null and void since Jesus cancelled out the Law. I am assuming they also mean to say that murder is no longer forbidden, and you should be able to take whatever you want from your neighbor’s house, including his wife…eh?
[As a point of clarification, the New Testament begins at the ‘death of the Testator’, Christ, according to Hebrews and every estate judge in the land. Jesus walked the Earth in an Old Testament economy. Yeah, I know…it’ll take a minute to grasp that one!]
At any rate, these arguments are often used as “proof” that Jesus never condemned homosexuality and thus Christians, who refer to the Bible when opposing these types of moral issues, are just wrong.
Ok, a Biblical response:
Firstly, Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 5:17-18 that He did not come to destroy the Law and the Prophets (Old Testament) but to fulfill it. Then He goes on to say that until “heaven and earth pass” not even a punctuation mark will be changed in the Law till it is fulfilled. He further states that if you break one commandment you have broken them all (v.19 and James 2:10, [he was half-brother of Jesus]), and that not only the actual doing of the thing, but the very thought of the sin is enough to condemn you. “If you look upon a maid to lust after her, you have committed adultery in your heart already.”(Matt 5:21-28)
As a matter of fact, Jesus does speak against fornication (sexual intercourse outside of marriage) which includes not only homosexual activity, but also extra-marital heterosexual activity, pedophilia, incest, bestiality and so forth. While Jesus does not specifically name “homosexuality”, neither does he specifically name “incest, pedophilia, or bestiality”.
Does lack of specific mention codify or legitimize sexual intercourse with a minor child or animal, or even necrophilia (with the dead)? I would hope that you would agree that it doesn’t. I would allow that certain individuals may have a predisposed propensity for homosexual attraction, but so do pedophiles, and zoophiles. Alcoholics also have a predisposed propensity for their weakness. If these could not be controlled there would be no “sober” alcoholics, just as there would be no “former” homosexuals. Obviously there are many who have overcome these predispositions.
The question of sexuality is not even necessarily a simple “religious” question concerning morality but is as much a scientific or biological question and environment plays a huge role in development. What is the purpose of copulation in nature? In nature every species “mates,” only at specific times, for one purpose: Propagation of the species. Ours is the only species (except one) that is capable of spontaneous copulation, or “recreational” intercourse (for mutual pleasure), propagation of the species notwithstanding, and the only one who can look into the eyes of our mate while engaged. (The Bible says the “eyes are the window to the soul”; thus for humans, sex is a spiritual act of communion as well.)
Nonetheless, the baser “natural” lust of mankind, becomes tempered by morality; a philosophical if not religious attitude that contains our urges, lest we succumb to our “desires” in every public venue. So then, there are advantages to societal limitations (moral guidelines, if you will) on what behavior is ‘acceptable’ and where, especially when you consider public viewing of these activities, age of consent (pedophilia), interspecies copulation (bestiality) and so on. Everyone lives according to someone’s morality, even if they claim to be amoral. Society demands it.
Statistically speaking: After a quick check via Google, a United Nations website, unaids.org, netted some startling facts. In North America, parts of Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe, 70% of all AIDS cases are transmitted by male on male intercourse. (The remainder of cases are attributed mostly to injection drug use .) As many as 56% of those (70%) are suspected of bisexual activity, which then calculates into 39 of 100 women engaging in intercourse with bisexual men can be exposed to HIV. The average life expectancy of a homosexual male is early 40’s. Not only does HIV/AIDS weigh in heavily but a myriad of other sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s) create health problems along with drug usage, which more often than not is a factor. It is a very destructive lifestyle and when Kinsey was doing his infamous sex studies, less than 1% of his homosexual men were 60+. A 2008 published study shows the overwhelming majority of deaths in homosexual men occur between ages of 25-45.
The logical conclusion to the matter is that open sexual activity which is harmful to society therefore is, and must be regulated; if not by law, then at least by some moral principle which has been established by that society in order to maintain a social order which will preserve and propagate the society.
The problem beginning to emerge here is not that LGBT’s want to do what they do, but demanding that the rest of society embrace or condone it. I don’t care what you do in the privacy of your bedroom. I just don’t want government telling me I have to embrace it by providing you that bedroom to do it in, condone your sexual behavior by being forced by a judge to make a cake for your gay wedding reception (in a state which doesn’t even recognize same-sex marriage), or photograph it by court order.
These court actions are in direct violation of the United States Constitution’s guarantee of “Freedom of Association” and the right of “Free excercise of Religion“. These rights are delineated hand in hand with our ‘Freedom of Speech” in the First Amendment because they are fundamental, and the Founders foresaw a time when Government would attempt to curb those rights necessary to maintain a free and moral society. We are not far from the point that Christians will not be allowed to run for certain offices (violation of Article VI) or hold some government positions. Yes, Apartheid is coming to America; mark it down!
Yes Phil has it right, and he has the right to say it. And if you study those 6 theological lessons I learned from the “Laws of Nature and Nature’s God”, you’ll find more Biblical truth than you might expect!
Hearkening back to “What would Jesus Do?” I can’t help but pose the thought that those practicing homosexuality and refuse the call of Jesus to “go and sin no more” are no different from those people who refuse to repent of any other sin, be it another “lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, or the pride of life”. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Experiencing God is not just for the afterlife; it is for this life. This is the “abundant life” that Jesus spoke of.
A person who refuses reconciliation with God either thinks himself too great, or God too small.

ObamaCare Ads: “Do You Got Insurance?”

That was my first reaction to a website I came across on Twitter last night. Then my next thought was, surely this is a parody, someone pointing out the absurdity of the “Affordable Care Act” by being absurd with these “mock ads”. I first saw it on a news blog called, “Independent Journal Review“, and then began following the links. I still couldn’t believe it: A “Thanks Obamacare” website complete with young people promoting illicit sex, binge drinking, and other “un-healthy” behavior, especially now that “I got insurance!”. Before you scroll down and look at a couple of the ridiculous ads, first I would like to raise a point not unrelated. These kids all look under the age of 26 (the one perched on the beer keg may be all of 19!) so are, according to Obamacare, still covered under their parents health insurance. Now, I thought the whole idea of Obamacare was to get these young people who seldom have need for medical coverage, covered by health insurance so they could help pay premiums and prop up the system. But the law says they don’t have to pay in; they can stay on their parents plan… I am confused! It’s part of the previously “undisclosed” contents of Obamacare that Nancy Pelosi said, “You have to pass it in order to see what’s in it”. Sounds like a stool sample to me…
But putting that obvious “oversight” aside, and discussing this ad campaign more specifically, I find it so apropos that the language used by the website in their link, “doyougotinsurance.com” is designed to appeal to ignorant and uneducated voters, promoting both immoral and unhealthy lifestyles, not to mention degrading and insulting.

It is truly amazing and equally disgusting that our benevolent “Progressive” government, and their comrades, have passed a law and now encourages these stupid kids to drink until they fall off their keg, and engage in otherwise risky and immoral behavior, while YOU and I are FORCED to PAY their *%#!?@! BIRTH CONTROL AND MEDICAL BILLS!!! Because, “HEY, THEY DO GOT INSURANCE”!

Progressive majority, eh? I wonder if the funding trail for this project goes back to people like Bill Gates and George Soros? Just wondering.
If you go to the “Thanks Obamacare” site, the first of 10 things listed to thank Obamacare for is “Congress will have the same health care as the rest of us”. You know, there was a time when I would have laughed that off with a, “yeah, right!” snort. But, I have to say, now I think this may very well be a true statement. Why? Because Obamacare is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. It is not failing, it is performing just exactly as it was designed. Seriously! This is Saul Alinsky’s method; to overwhelm the system and bring it crashing down. (Obama is not only a student of Alinsky, he taught his methods as a professor.)
The way I see it is there are two possibilities. Either the end goal is to put all but one or two insurance companies out of business, or have a totally government-funded and controlled health care system. The latter is Communist, and the former is Fascist. There are a couple of big names that are not strangers to the insurance business and they both were huge advocates for Obamacare and they both have a reputation for using very aggressive methods for putting their competition in a headlock in order to buy them out or choke them out of business. Warren Buffet was one of these fellows, and he does own a little insurance company called GEICO. Yeah, the one with the cute little gecko with the New Zealand accent. The other guy is a very aggressive progressive and owns an insurance company by that name; Progressive (George Soros).
Hmm…”progressive”…where have I seen that recently?
One more question. Who Californicated Colorado?
Oh, Yeah, I almost forgot…”Thanks Obama”…
