Jessica Mokdad, 20 years old, was killed by her step-father, Rahim Alfetlawi when he followed her to her grandmother’s home in Dearborn and shot her in the head for not adhering to Muslim customs. “Honor Killing”. (Star Tribune Article)
The American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) organized its first Human Rights Conference to bring attention to the plight of women under the tyranny of Islamic Law. AFDI Executive Director Pamela Geller: “We’ve named the Conference after her as part of our ongoing campaign to raise awareness and bring a stop to the phenomenon of Islamic honor killing. These girls have rights, too, they’re human beings, and yet they’re completely forgotten in our politically correct culture, in which speech that is offensive to Islam is increasingly forbidden. We’re standing for the human rights of girls like Jessica Mokdad.”
Nonie Darwish grew up in Egypt and lived for 30 years under Sharia. I think this woman knows what she is talking about when she calls Sharia an “archaic, demonic legal system which must be abolished from the face of the Earth!”…”Sharia Law is NOT a cultural thing…and every Muslim girl is afraid of it.”
I was honored to meet Nonie in Tulsa, OK in 2011. I am humbled to stand beside her in this fight. A small woman in stature, but more courageous than any man I know.
Read her books. They tell the truth.
